Maybe it's cause I'm european, but it just seems so weird to see guns getting shipped in styrofoam. I always imagined the packaging would be a little more elaborate.

Most long guns come in cardboard and a plastic bag. Rarely if ever will ship with a case. Makes sense as some people like to sleeve them or use a soft case, others like a hard case and a hard case worth any level of protection is huge and heavy

The best option for a defensive firearms is a 5.56x45mm AR-15, 12gauge Remington 870 shotgun, and a reputable 9x19mm handgun.
Defensive firearms should have a WML, long guns a sling, and handguns require a Kydex or solid plastic holster that fully covers the trigger.
