Honesty, I am tired of accidentally hitting "back" on my phone and having my feed reset, so I was wondering if any of your clients didn't do that, while also wanting to check out the competition for Sync.

Boost for Lemmy

[-] rob_t_firefly@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Jerboa on mobile, the website on desktop.

[-] mrslt@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago

Voyager works like a charm for me.

[-] lustrum@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Yup. I use the PWA so I don't even need to install it. Wish this was more widespread.

Fun fact. If you search up reddit on android bar sync comes up.

[-] MDCCCLV@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

The app is just called sync what used to be Sync for Lemmy. It still says sync for Lemmy on the play store, I'm not sure if that hasn't been updated or it's the official name still.

[-] IndustryStandard@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

Jerboa. Made by the Lemmy devs.

[-] Ashiggan@eviltoast.org 10 points 1 day ago

Boost for Lemmy since Boost for Reddit was my old app

Voyager here, can't complain.

[-] modular950@lemmy.zip 30 points 2 days ago

+1 for Voyager. It's my first and so far only client that I've used, having been on infinity for reddit before switching.

I like it. it's smooth, works well, and has fairly granular settings for how to handle "read" posts, gesture controls within posts / comments, and so on.

Connect for lemmy,

Looks just like RIF

[-] Dequei@sopuli.xyz 45 points 2 days ago

No love for Summit here? I've tried almost every android app and ended up with this one. Very smooth UI and full of features.

[-] alianne@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

I swapped from Sync to Summit and have been loving it. The dev's super responsive too, which is a big plus.

Eternity. I don't know the last time the dev has updated this shit but it kinda works. I still love the UI

[-] swollengoat@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Wef wef I think? That’s what the app says on my phone.

[-] mic_check_one_two@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago)

Wefwef was the original name for Voyager. If it’s still named that, it simply means you’re using the browser-based PWA instead of the actual App Store app. Not a huge difference between the two, except that the PWA isn’t technically “installed” on your phone in the traditional sense.

[-] DrSteveBrule@mander.xyz 1 points 20 hours ago

I think that was the OG name for Voyager lol

[-] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago

Boost

Called "Boost for Lemmy". It's great. All kinds of custom options. Integration with instances are really good.

Try it.... give a dollar... It'll be Ad free.

[-] somerandomperson@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 2 days ago

It's closed-source 🤮

Eww

[-] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago

Blah, blah, blah... one Dev. Get a grip.

I used boost for reddit back when that was a thing. The dev got the lemmy up in like a week, very impressive to me. I give $5 every now and then when I feel like it and remember. I'd recommend the app for sure

Jerboa gives you a confirmation prompt before exiting, when you press back from the main feed.

[-] scytale@piefed.zip 21 points 2 days ago

Thunder. Cross platform, great UI, and now has piefed support.

[-] kepix@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

thunder ui just made sense for me

[-] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 days ago

I've used Jerboa for years now, and have the press back twice to exit setting enabled:

My configuration for it is very minimal, to mimic RedReader that I used to use.

[-] Perspectivist@feddit.uk 10 points 2 days ago

Firefox

The less apps I have on my phone the better and I mostly browse Lemmy on desktop anyway.

[-] RmDebArc_5@piefed.zip 2 points 1 day ago

I recently switched to Blorp. It’s still somewhat early in development, but overall is really nice.

[-] dparticiple@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 days ago

Extremely happy with Voyager.

[-] mesamunefire@piefed.social 10 points 2 days ago

You know what's nice, we have sooooo many more options than we deserve. Thanks all you devs!

Reddit has one official one that kinda sucks.

I second that! It’s great. I tried a few different ones at the start, then tried Mlem and never looked back.

[-] Duplex6742@infosec.pub 3 points 20 hours ago

Shocked there’s so little love for Mlem in here. It rocks

[-] oxbech@feddit.dk 2 points 18 hours ago

I completely agree! I guess there are more people on Lemmy using android than iOS. It’s a bit more in line with the ethos I guess? And Mlem is only iOS.

I used to be android as well, but honestly I won’t ever go back I don’t think. But to each there own
