Not just from Wish. I'd like to take a moment to say a massive Fuck You to the turbo thundercunt at Apple who decided it would be a good idea to make the iPhone headphone volume exposure limit warning LOUDER than the audio it was warning me about, and also to provide no method of adjusting either volume to match what my headphones actually output. That's some fucking Grade-A trolling right there. Twats.

[-] porksnort@slrpnk.net 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Thank you for introducing me to the term ‘thundercunt’. It has me thinking of cosplay ideas.

However, Siri and notifications volume is controlled separately from media volume on iOS. You can just turn it down.

You can also set a repeating reminder to call Apple a bunch of throbbing thundercunts, perhaps weekly? Which is still a very important thing to do.

My radio-bluetooth transmitter speaks english in a stereotypical Japanese accent and it's hilarious.

[-] bobo1900@startrek.website 73 points 3 days ago

The most annoying thing is it blasting "battery low" every 30 seconds when the battery gets below 20%, making them absolutely unusable. At least Sony lets out a ver short beep to let you know, and only twice

[-] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

if it's gonna "battery low" at me, I gotta figure out how to change it to "build more pylons"

[-] uuldika@lemmy.ml 5 points 2 days ago

you must construct additional electrons.

I hate this too, it reminds you constantly as if its something dangerous that you shouldn't forget about. A small beep once every 20 minutes would suffice. Not only that, but a lot of modern Bluetooth headphones last for quite a long time after the battery goes below 20%.

[-] elvith@feddit.org 12 points 3 days ago

Also modern Bluetooth devices send their battery level to the connected device. Why don't most phones also regularly send a toast or show a notification that you headphones are running out of battery?

[-] cmfhsu@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Well I'm not always looking at my phone when I've got headphones in.

Actually, I'm almost never looking at my phone when I've got Bluetooth headphones in.

[-] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I have been using Sony earbuds exclusively for the past few years. 10/10. Good sound, decent battery. Well made case (seriously you don't realize until you have one how nice a well made and shaped case is), they've held up far better than I expected over the years.

A bit pricer than some junk you can order off wish or whatever, but I think it's well worth it for the quality and longevity of it.

My favorite Wf-700

[-] sad_detective_man@leminal.space 13 points 3 days ago

god, it's so repetitive. I'm certain that actually drains the remaining battery even faster with how often it does it

[-] ch00f@lemmy.world 57 points 3 days ago

My dashcam had a button that allowed you to disable/enable audio recording. It had a voice say "audio recording aww."

"On" and "Off" sounded nearly identical.

[-] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 27 points 2 days ago

audio recording aww 🥰🥰

[-] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 27 points 3 days ago

I use Pinebuds. They have a woman's voice that very enthusiastically says "ready to pair" in an American accent. But what sounds like a Chinese woman's voice saying "phone disconnected".

[-] sad_detective_man@leminal.space 19 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

wait I think those are mine too. I don't know my brand but when the battery is low a voice like you're describing says "Please charging 🥺"

[-] ndupont 17 points 3 days ago

I can clearly hear that voice. But can't remember which dewice it was

[-] Redredme@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

I've a creative air thingy headphone. Great device. It comes with the sweetest asian female voice you can imagine.

So yes. It's so Lovely. It's the voice accompanying all your (manga) waifu dreams.

Too bad you can't really understand what she says. But who cares, right?

[-] Burnoutdv@feddit.org 3 points 2 days ago

There is a company called moondrop that has deliberately waifu voices. But i cant figure them out as a company, they got super cheap in ears and then other stuff that is hundreds of euro, quality wise they are okay I guess

[-] lime@feddit.nu 18 points 3 days ago

the little dongle i use in my car always starts up with a very serious "bluatooth connected"

[-] bstix@feddit.dk 9 points 3 days ago

I had one that said "the bluetooth device has connected as successfully"

[-] bstix@feddit.dk 4 points 3 days ago
[-] tias@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 days ago

They mean as successfully as you

[-] pogodem0n@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

[-] Electricd@lemmybefree.net 10 points 2 days ago

And at this point you realize they’re all made by the same company

[-] xx3rawr@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago

Possibly manufactured by a different factory in China, but only across the street, but definetly uses the same firmware

[-] Electricd@lemmybefree.net 1 points 1 day ago

I believe on some websites you can order thousands of a unit, and ask to put your brand name on it

People use it for dropshipping or similar

might be the case

[-] sad_detective_man@leminal.space 3 points 3 days ago

I would just love to see more Tim Curry. That man was a legend ✊😔

[-] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 17 points 3 days ago

Still with us, but the stroke he suffered has taken a toll.

From Rocky Horror, Clue, Home Alone 2, and Red Alert 3 (also featuring Trek alum George Takei), he delivers camp in the best way.

[-] kautau@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

For those that haven’t seen this clip from Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, watching him try not to break as he delivers an absolutely ridiculous line with all his energy is perhaps one of the best bits of acting I’ve ever seen

A friend and I played the whole campaign in co-op when it came out and both cracked up so bad after that cutscene. I think we had to restart the mission because we were laughing too hard still to actually start playing (plus we got to watch the briefing again!)
