Republican voters: “but you’re disenfranchising us!”
Good, gerrymander the FUCK out of CA
I heard Arnold is against this. Same he didnt have the same response when texas was doing it.
He is a "good republican". He dislikes trump because he lost influence but has no real problem with trump's america.
See also romney and the mccains.
Arnie definitely has a personal problem with things like Trump's climate policy, his anti-immigrant policy and some other stuff. He has no problem with gerrymandering to favour the GOP though apparently, and still won't go on record against the GOP - only against Trump personally.
I wish the abbreviation 'GOP' would stop being used as they aren't grand in any sense of the word.
GOP = Gaslight Obstruct Project.
Guardians Of Pedophiles
Gang Of Paedos.
They're also the younger of the two parties
This is bad for everybody, but it would be worse to not do it. The G(rand)O(ld)P(edophiles) are destroying the country for no reason.
Which plan will they use? They could go 100% of districts being blue according to this:
It really sucks because RCV and proportional representation (using super districts) would solve so many problems—especially lesser of two evils voting. But is it better at this point to have as little MAGA representation as possible?
They need to do the #2 Compact method. Then once there is a clear trifecta majority, they need to make a national law to eliminate gerrymandering nationwide. Take the power and then give it up, just like George Washington. That's the American way.
It’s going to take generations to reverse this Nazi damage. If we ever regain our freedoms we need to make sure these Nazis are put in their place for the foreseeable future
There is no "reversing" this. America is a failed society now.
Eh, it can be fixed. Once Trump passes of old age, they lose their charismatic leader and they begin to fracture. Democrats retake the house and Senate and win the presidency and... Keep a lot of the nonsense that was started under Trump. We kick the can down the road a few more cycles and we are back to being slaves to corporations hoping we can keep our healthcare. While hoping the next Trump doesn't win.
That's probably what will happen. It's quite profitable to keep us slaves.
Only way we get back to actual good times is if we get a New Deal kind of presidency who really reinvests in the workers rather than chasing short term profits and grifts. We have a good location so with enough time that will happen. In our lifetimes? I'm not sure about that.
I wish more states would do this and stop trying to play nice against people who aren't playing by the rules.
do it just like the national popular vote interstate compact: a bunch of states get together and say that they will gerrymander to offset or exceed differences in other states where outcomes differ from the proportional vote of the electorate
if enough states jump onboard that’d nullify the point of gerrymandering
solving the game theory of the problem is the way to go imo
you can even word it so that it doesn’t mention either party… in fact, you should because the point is not to have democrats win; it’s to stop gerrymandering
Good fuck Nazis they’re not welcome here. We need to stop paying federal taxes too.
Oh I'm in favor of California paying its fair percentage of net revenue, AFTER we've deducted all the expenses of replacing the clawed-back funds for necessary services. And the traditional "asshole customer surcharge." Should leave about $3.50
The Supreme Court will block this.
That would probably be the best strategy, gerrymander the fuck out of a bunch of blue states, and have SCOTUS declare gerrymandering illegal
They'll find a way to make it only apply when it's against Republican interests.
That’s the point. They’re trying to get the Republicans to back down.
On what grounds?
According to the Constitution, maps will be drawn by the states. There is no national law against gerrymandering. The voting rights act only ensures that there are opportunity districts for minorities.
The only laws these maps violate are state laws and that will be alleviated by putting the action to a vote.
On what grounds?
That it is bad for Republicans.
Yeaaah, that map doesn't even look as fuckity as most red states but it's pretty clear to a CA native what they're doing to Bakersfield and Fresno areas. That northern district eating a bit into SF Bay area looks a little odd but I wouldn't have been surprised if that's how it's always been, lol.
Edit note: that one former gop speaker, what's-his-face comes from that Bakersfield area that's getting cut up.
Frankly speaking the dumb fucks up in Bakersfield got my uncle killed fuck em. Shitty ass infrastructure.
It's true, but doesn't help that a ton of people living there also can't legally vote due to undocumented status. I imagine the land owners are the ones voting and yeah, fuck 'em.
Bakersfield is shit covered asshole of California and this is coming from some born in Redlands and who has lived across the Inland Empire, the few times I've been to Bakersfield had made me want to go chat up the crackheads on baseline in San Bernardino. That entire fucking city and it's surrounding region needs heavy reform.
