The anti-woke campaigner brought legal action against Meta – ... – after the company’s artificial intelligence chatbot falsely stated he took part in the riot at the US Capitol on 6 January, 2021, seeking $5 million in damages.

Hold up, you can a convince a chat bot to say something bad about you and then sue that company into giving you a job?

What the fuck is happening right now?

Zuckerberg is such a coward.

He bends over backwards for even the slightest change in wind, like VR or a fascist govt. He dropped open-weight llama at the first experimental stumble.

Mark my words, if a mega liberals got into power, he’d fire this guy and act as woke as can be.

[-] artifex@piefed.social 33 points 2 months ago

It's not cowardice, it's intentional. He wants a timeline where techno-lords with divine authority oversee their vassal states and nations are a thing of the past. Bending over for a fascist party is the fastest way to get there.

[-] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago

I honestly think Zuck is more of a coward than the Palantir CEO and that techno feudalism crowd. He’s just so obviously insecure in all his decision making it’s unreal.

Is there actually something behind all these comments about his appearance, or is it just typical internet name-calling that mostly falls into the same anti-LGBTQ+ bucket?

[-] QueenHawlSera@sh.itjust.works 27 points 2 months ago

He claims to hate transpeople, yet passes for female better than I, an actual transwoman, do.

[-] ok_computer_dude@lemmy.zip 13 points 2 months ago

I guess that’s what makes it funny they are anti what they remind ppl of. Don’t hate thy self, push toward others is what she is projecting.

From the way American mega-corporations are going all-in on this, it seems like a long-term choice; so I think it’s one of two things: the shareholders are demanding that they go full republican (which isn’t happening AFAIK), or they’re trying to survive because they know something you don’t.

Disclaimer: not a US citizen/resident, but sad to see this happening tbh.

Edit: or it’s short-term and caused by Trump pressuring everybody to do controversial stuff in order to distract the public from the Epstein files.

[-] Nalivai@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

They are on it just as much as they were on progressive issues very little time ago. Corpos don't have believes, they do what they think will bring them more money now

Meta seems to really want to overcorrect... they demanded Meta remove their diversity policies, so Meta said that they'd do one better and just start stringing people up in the office.

I just had the opportunity to purchase "AI" eyeglasses. They do recording, pictures, capture audio, supposedly let you talk to them, etc. IIRC the frames were by Ray Ban, they didn't look awful.

They were powered by Meta. That was an instant hard pass for me.

TBF I'd probably have skipped them anyway, but if they'd been some other company I'd have at least been intrigued and given them another look.
