twisted metal when the new episodes release, otherwise king of the hill. got a lot of catching up to do there lol
rewatch of odaat again <3 yes i still hate netflix for cancelling it.
Watched season 1 of Slow Horses.
Gary Oldman really driving home his fart-on-command performances with this one. I have to believe he’s pooped his pants on set at least once. Looking forward to starting season 2.
Currently Watching:
- Dept Q: I am on Episode 5 and it is great!
- Dope Girls: I am on Episode 3 and the show has sagged a bit but it is good.
- A Thousand Blows: I struggle with Stephen Knight Shows, but this one is great. I am on episode 3.
- Andor: Episode 8 is tonight. It is the best Star Wars since 1980s Empire Strikes Back.
- Hard Knocks with the Buffalo Bills. If you are into Hard Knocks than this is for you.
Probably abandoning:
Smoke: I am 2 episodes into the show and I am really struggling to care about it. I will give it at least one more episode. Nothing is working in the show. I don’t buy Jurnee Smollette as an on the edge cop, Edggerton is not working as whatever he is supposed to be. It is just so contrived.
I've finally gotten around to watching Legion and it's fantastic. The writing and cinematography is on another level and every episode is so satisfying to watch.
Do not go past S1.
I just finished season 2 and I think I might know what you mean, so many unexplained things never got resolved.
Oh, why? I'm most of the way through season 2 so far and have been really enjoying it. What didn't you like about seasons 2 and 3?
The first season of Panda (2023) - fun little crime comedy, I hope season 2 is available in the USA soon La Sala (2019) - Really good crime drama limited series.
Also, I just finished The Equalizer (with Queen Latifah) - Good news: the show actually wrapped up well, bad news: I wasn't the biggest fan of the last 2 seasons
In no particular order.
'Black Sails.' Great pirate drama. All the sex, violence, and intrigue of GOT with a much quicker pace.
'Penny Dreadful.' Eva Greene and Timothy Dalton as vampire hunters in Edwardian London.
'Ozark' If you need more of 'Breaking Bad' watch this
'Lioness' Bizarre combination of soap opera and spy show. Female agents are recruited to get close to the families of terrorists/cartel members
Free on Youtube. 'Connections' great history of science.
I tried Ozark and sadly although I see the quality it didn't work for me.
The first episode of Ozark is spectacular. Then the show really sags until the last two episodes of S1. S2 and S3 are the shows best and s4 was just garbage.
Even the best seasons of Ozark have parts that are brilliant and parts that are just so bad..
Overall it just isn’t worth it, except maybe for the Julie Garner as Ruth. Talk about a tour-de-force of a performance.
"The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window"
It wąs interesting with nice twists.
Actually I have to add one more which I just watched yesterday, the 4 episodes short series Adolesense on Netflix. God damn it's good! I binge-watched it yesterday until 2 AM and then dreamed inside of that context for the whole night until I woke up.
It's a crime drama written by Stephen Graham, who also plays one of the main roles in it and who also was in one of my favourite movies of all time "This is England". The 13 years old is arrested for alleged murder in the beginning and then most of the series shows how it affects his school mates, his family and the rest of the community.
It's totally fabricated and not based on a real story but it has the feeling that it is, somehow very powerful stuff.
Is that the one with Kristen Bell in it? I recall that being quite funny.
Yeah yeah, exactly that.
I finished 'Something Undone'. It had quite an unsatisfying ending, and when I looked it up online it appears to have been a victim of premature cancellation. I can't really say I regret watching it, because visually it was great and there were some actors I hadn't seen much of, but I do feel a little disappointed knowing the loose ends will never be resolved.
Currently I'm rewatching 'House of the Dragon' with my partner, who is experiencing it for the first time. She was quite hesitant to watch it because she knows 'Game of Thrones' was full of violence and nudity (things she tends to hate when they are overdone), but I reassured her that House of the Dragon is quite a bit more restrained and tasteful. Then the very first episode is full of unnecessary violence and sex...I wonder if they did that on purpose to bait Game of Thrones fans? Anyway, it has been fun to experience the twists and big moments a second time through her and compare her reactions to mine. I enjoyed watching this show by myself but I think it's better with someone else beside me to discuss it with.
Started alien earth. Looking like a good set up after one episode. I’m also doing a Buffy and angel marathon.
Currently watching "The Edge of Sleep".
Recently I finished "Dept. Q" and "Untamed" both were great.
