Technically correct.

It is entirely up to Israel how much genocide they do.

Having the blessings of the USA is just a bonus.

"It's up to them! We just provide the money, weapons and power for them to do it!"

Amazing work from all y'all making sure Genocide Joe or Holocaust Harrison didn't become president because...you know... it's soooo much better now.

Maybe next time don't vote harder!?!?!

It's been nine months since the election, and you absolute soulless scum are still removed and whining about your fucking terrible genocide supporting candidate eating shit. Nine months not doing anything to actually combat Trump, or the genocide or prepare for the mid terms or anything - all you can do is continue to moan about the left. Fuck you, there is nothing Trump could do to you that you won't fully deserve. You people are worse than the lowest MAGA chud.

Hey, yank, nobody wants to hear about your god damn 2024 elections any more.

[-] The_Che_Banana@beehaw.org 1 points 3 days ago

yank this, I don't live in that shithole country

Israel is the only country that makes demands to the US and has the US consistently acquiescing to whatever they want. They literally call the US their dog and the US all but agrees. You think Biden or Harris would be the exceptions?

[-] mrdown@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago

It was always to plan to occupy whole palestine harris would not stop israel either. We don't need fake people like you who think support for a genocided population is transactional

The Biden administration had the same policy they were just silent about it. Else they wouldn't have vetoed ceasefire three [four?] times at the UN, wouldn't have voted against Palestinian right to self determination, and Blinken wouldn't have suggested relocating Gazans to Egypt and Jordan, and imposing sanctions on the ICC.

If the Biden administration was actually against this they wouldn't have let the genocide go on for 15 months before leaving the White House. It was the weapons they sent and the political cover they provided that allowed Israel to commit the genocide.

The real question is: would you still be against it if Biden or Harris were presidents? Chance are no you won't, you most probably were excusing the genocide during their reign.

The Democrats ran a bad campaign and lost. It's not the fault of people who didn't vote for them, it's theirs.

[-] The_Che_Banana@beehaw.org 1 points 3 days ago

Yes but there was a very vocal 'my vote is no vote' especially on this platform

[-] agnomeunknown@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 days ago

That was the voice of the people the Dems failed to sway with their centrist militaristic bullshit. They tried to court the right and it was a bad plan that made them lose. I voted for Kamala because I was worried about Trump. That was the last time they will earn my vote that way. Fuck them.

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 1 points 4 days ago

The dems seemed to think that running a female candidate against Trump would work.

Twice.

The USA wasn't and probably still isn't ready for Madam President.

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 10 points 4 days ago

We all know even you don't believe that nonsense. You all know that Harris was a terrible candidate regardless of gender.

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 2 points 4 days ago

I fully believe the US electorate is too sexist to elect a woman as president.

The faster y'all destroy yourselves and leave the rest of the world alone the better.

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 6 points 4 days ago

If you think Harris would have been elected if she was man, you're lying to yourself.

You're very much correct in that second part though.

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 1 points 3 days ago

If you think Harris would have been elected if she was man

No I don't, but i think the odds would have been better.

All the candidates need to do is win the handful of swing votes that tip your electoral college red/blue.

[-] BrainInABox@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago

Ok, so you were lying when you said she lost because she's a woman

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 1 points 3 days ago

Quote me where I said that you coward.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_elected_and_appointed_female_heads_of_state_and_government

These are all countries that had a female head of state and/or female head of government or de facto leader.

Do you really think all these countries are less sexist than the USA? India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Hungary, Belarus...

Both Harris and Clinton were terrible candidates as they are the epitome of soulless sycophant elite candidates, completely detached from the reality of normal people and void of Charisma.

[-] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 1 points 3 days ago

Still not the argument I was making.

I'm not interested in strawman disingenuous argument.

[-] Tangentism@lemmy.ml 8 points 4 days ago

The dems seemed to think that running a shit female candidate against Trump would work.

Nobody wants neoliberalism but the Dems cannot grasp yet continue to push despite how much performative progressive politics they do.

It's what David Graeber described as "extreme centrism". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9afwZON8dU

[-] PastaCannon@lemmy.ml 11 points 4 days ago

Ahahah americans are fucked fucked jesus.

Just to understand your perspective, how do you judge the clearly better candidate after being silent for 10 months and now she’s came out promoting her book? Do you feel she cares about americans (because clearly that all you care) or Palestinians?

[-] Tangentism@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago

You're comment presupposes that the US isn't a genocidal imperialist empire and that "if the right president is elected everything will be ok" but the truth is that while internally there maybe noticeable differences to the quality of your life, which are really just different sized crumbs the elites allow to fall from their table, for everyone outside the US, the next day is no different to the previous one.

One of the only good things about trump being elected is that he is accelerating the collapse of the US and it's hegemony. No-one can now point to the US and claim it to be the bastion of the free world.

The downside to that is people will suffer and die but the rest of the world may have a little schadenfreude that you're getting your just desserts.

As for Israel, with Netanyahu at the wheel for the last 30 years and being backed by trump, the end of that apartheid ethnostate project is nearing as well.
