Susie Willies is the Chief of Staff of the President.

She controls his agenda. She sometimes takes decisions on his behalf.

She is one of the very few people that Donald Trump actually trusts.

In 2010, she helped healthcare businessman Rick Scott become Governor of Florida.

She went to create a corporate lobbying firm named Ballard Partners. She recruited Pam Bondi as a lobbyist for Ballard Partners.

In 2018, she helped Ron De Santis become Governor Governor of Florida.

In 2024, Susie Willies was the top campaign manager of Donald Trump.

Am I the only one that thinks 90% of the people in the clowns orbit should be put in homes for the elderly and insane?

We've got bro getting ready to fingerpaint with pudding and queen karen-de-ville realizing the voices are in the room with her.

[-] philophilsaurus@sh.itjust.works 30 points 3 weeks ago

You’re going to let them off easy like that?

[-] yggstyle@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago

It's only right that they experience homes for the insane as they were during their generation ;) I certainly wouldn't want them to feel out of place.

[-] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 83 points 3 weeks ago

I really hate to make a remark about appearance, but she's got mad crazy person eyes. Most of the worst people I've ever met have that same look in their eyes.

[-] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 12 points 3 weeks ago

Here I was thinking I was going to get nuked, but it looks like all of you have seen this shit and have been willing to run some yellow tape.

[-] Fredthefishlord 11 points 3 weeks ago

There's always a look to it. As long as you keep in mind that it can be wrong and adjust your view of people accordingly if corrected, it's not super wrong to judge by appearances

Just in case you see her on a trolley track and mom said it's your turn to control the switch

[-] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 25 points 3 weeks ago

For reasons. Idk if she gets SS protections but they might not be as much.

[-] victorz@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

[-] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 11 points 3 weeks ago

I haven't seen the show, but the premise of "The Thick of It" is that the real powerful figures are staffers, not the politicians themselves.

You must! It's easily my favourite comedy show of the 00s, but if you're not a Brit you'll probably need subs, lol.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 21 points 3 weeks ago

Had to try a couple of searches before I came up with the correct spelling: Susie Wiles.

[-] Greg@lemmy.ca 18 points 3 weeks ago

She doesn't look very strong

[-] Enzyoo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 3 weeks ago

Just a manipulative caretaker of the elderly

[-] 000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 3 weeks ago

She works for a pedo. Yuck

[-] TwinTitans@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago

Looking at this crowd of people it’s hilarious to see people actually wearing that ridiculous hat. Do people actually do this in the US? 😂

[-] CtrlAltDeltaco 21 points 3 weeks ago

The hats are just the tip of the iceberg. Political apparel isn't anything new, but it's usually just reserved for election years. For a lot in MAGA, it's everyday. And it's not just clothing.

Driving through rural areas or small towns, the amount of Trump flags flying in front of homes today, well after the election, is staggering. Flags are what get me because I can't think of any other candidate who had their name on a flag that people actually flew alongside of or in place of the American flag. I do not remember ever seeing Bush flags, or Obama flags, or Biden flags. This is different. This idolatry is not normal.

Yes. Not even at rallies. People wear trump hats really in public. It's embarrassing

[-] Blackmist@feddit.uk 12 points 3 weeks ago

Well at least Ozzie Osbourne's make up artist has still got a job

[-] rizzothesmall@sh.itjust.works 11 points 3 weeks ago

Fucking hell, you'd think being the most powerful woman in the US would afford you the ability to change your name from Willies

[-] victorz@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago

It gives me the Trumpies.

[-] AJ1@lemmy.ca 11 points 3 weeks ago

She controls his agenda. She sometimes takes decisions on his behalf.

... what exactly does "takes decisions on his behalf" mean? I've never "taken" someone else's decision, afaik... but I don't really know what that's supposed to mean, so whatever

[-] scarabic@lemmy.world 20 points 3 weeks ago

Some people say “make a decision” and some people say “take a decision.” In my experience most Americans say “make a decision,” but both are valid and mean the same thing.

“She controls his agenda.”

Define agenda. Are we talking meetings calendar? Because people like Putin and Peter Thiel influence what Trump actually says and does.

[-] scarabic@lemmy.world 18 points 3 weeks ago

Controlling the meeting calendar for the president is more than just the clerical work of a personal assistant. The president works and makes decisions by meeting with people. She decides who gets access to him today. She deflects people she doesn’t think are worth his time. Over the long run she can have extraordinary influence over him and what choices he has in front of him to make. She can effectively block people she doesn’t want to have any access. Thats a lot of power for someone most people don’t know by name.

[-] Hawke@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago

Especially since he listens to whatever someone said to him most recently.

[-] LesserAbe@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

Besides what the other commenter replied, with Trump there's a special value in controlling his agenda because often the last person he talks to will have the most sway. There have been stories about his appointees taking advantage of a rival appointee being away or in a meeting, and getting Trump to issue an order or even just tweet a position on something so it's harder to walk back when someone else gets his ear.

Friendly reminder the guy who organised lenins calendar was bloody stalin. That's a level of discretionary control over a highly powerful individual that could basically let you choose the next president.

[-] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 3 weeks ago

she would be the female counterpart of thiel, thiel was pretty "close" vicinity to trump in his first term, and prior to jd vance spotlight. he has taken more of backdoor approach the 2nd time.

Wiki says her last name is Wiles (née Summerall), btw.

[-] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 6 points 3 weeks ago

Nah she'll always be willies to me because that's what she gives me.

[-] percent@infosec.pub 5 points 3 weeks ago
