Hey, if you only eat paste, there is no chance you get food poisoning from a dirty cooking area or an unskilled cook.

What about the mood debuff?

[-] BrotherL0v3@lemmy.world 24 points 2 years ago

Sounds like something a nice bedroom would offset.

[-] DasRubberDuck@feddit.de 13 points 2 years ago

I'm somehow always playing transhumanists. They don't get a debuff.

[-] Johanno@feddit.de 12 points 2 years ago

And the best part is nobody knows how many legs are mixed into it

[-] Hotdogman@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Ooooh, are we on a train?

[-] zaphodb2002@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 years ago

Also they clearly had tables, so they don't have to kill each other and break all of their own infrastructure yet.

There doesn't have to be in the matrix either, why wouldn't they exclude that shit?? Man robots are jerks

[-] DavidGarcia@feddit.nl 49 points 2 years ago

what if Neo was in reality from the beginning and Morpheus just drugged him and plugged him into the matrix to live in the fake hell version of earth where the fake machines took over

[-] GrammatonCleric@lemmy.world 25 points 2 years ago

The Jesus parallels make a lot more sense this way

[-] Lawdoggo@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago

Also Neo’s Wi-Fi capabilities

[-] RickyRigatoni@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 years ago

Nah that's just what 5g implants do

I'd read a thing a while back that it wasn't WiFi, and more that admin basically said "oh shit. We're not supposed to already get him at this point in the cycle. SUDO_DON'T_FUCK_WITH_HIM" and emergency aborted the squids.

I kinda like that idea better than the inexplicable WiFi, if we're not doing the MWAM approach.

[-] Noodle07@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

Oh that's fucked up, I have to rethink about all the movies under that angle now

[-] Early_To_Risa@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Reverse Morpheus

[-] dingleberry@discuss.tchncs.de 22 points 2 years ago

Matrix wouldn't be so bad if they adjusted the hue...just saying.

[-] NegativeLookBehind@kbin.social 24 points 2 years ago

Huehuehuehuehue

[-] Marcumas@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

They took out the green tint in the 4k release.

[-] FinalRemix@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

What a weird decision. Would've been nice to have both "versions" maybe.

[-] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 20 points 2 years ago

Am I the only one that doesn't need concrete logic to enjoy something?

iT hAs PlOtHoLeS

And?

Fucking and!?!?

[-] FinalRemix@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago

Only when the plotholes make shit just not work, lile teleporting characters, or plot twists that involve the ol' "you thought I died onscreen, but it was just a flesh wound that looked like impalement" do the plotholes really fuck things up.

[-] aeternum@kbin.social 1 points 2 years ago

like how Trinity died, but then they brought her back to life for Resurrections?

[-] FinalRemix@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Ehhh... so did Neo. The machines let Smith overwrite him, so they could fry that iteration.

The machines likely had their engrams saved, and definitely had their bodies. Clone 'em, stitch 'em back together, homunculus them, whatever. There was a big ol' time skip between Revolutions and Resurrections anyway.

Especially since "Neo" had been through however many cycles before according to the Architect.

We gotta go to candy mountain NEOOOOOOOOOOO

The context of the screencap is a Kia ad if anyone's curious (but also fuck Hyun/Kia and their poor decision-making

[-] aeternum@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

what the fuck. That was so lame.

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Wait, did I miss a car company scandal?

[-] rikonium@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 2 years ago

which one? It's not so much one big scandal (although that skipping basic anti-theft features decision to save a buck is pretty big right now) but all the medium ones that pretty much point to poor engineering decision-making or standards that causes trouble for owners despite their (usually) lower prices and sharp styling. Their past decade of 4-cylinder GDI engines being junk, fire risk stemming from several very different causes, etc. Of course, one can argue corporations will penny-pinch, but Hyundai and Kia just seem to keep pinching in the wrong places that other manufacturers either learned not to, or never bothered to pinch.

[-] kemsat@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago

This was addressed in the movie. Prominently. It was the whole 2nd half or final 3rd of the movie.

Also, they gave him the option to back out & just go back home to his Matrix-life. Also a pretty notable part of the movie. It’s even a meme!
