Whatever happened to separating art and artist? I swear to God no one is more on someone's dick than an HP fan scorned. I get it jk is a fucking bitch but I'm not giving up good stories I grew up with because the twat who wrote it needs a good face punching.

If we did this with everything basically all entertainment would be fucked completely. But no we just have a hard-on for potter fans apparently. Easy targets I guess. Easier at least than sorting through all the media you love, to see if it stars Uncle touchy or the Weinsteins

Well buying used book does not give jkr one penny, watching dvd does not give and algorithm engagement, amd any old offline game will not either.

Sure, Karen.

I liked the (first four) movies. Honestly awesome if short Alan Rickman screentime. I pirated them. I watch hem whenever I want, not when you think I have to be a soldier for your cause, and that bitch still don't get a cent from me.

Like, sure, conveniently I won't have any spare time to rewatch them this month, but that's because life is busy not becuse you think you're right.

I feel the same way. I don't understand why someone cant talk about Harry potter and still show support for pride month. I understand not buying things as cancel culture is logical if you are into that.

Guess I am glad I never liked Harry Potter growing up

I sorta get this, but sorta don’t. Do you have any idea how many celebrities are abhorrent people? Movie execs? Team owners? Record company execs? Game studio execs?

I’m guessing that MOST of what we enjoy involves someone or something that’s morally wrong. Hell, most of us can live the most responsible life possible, but we’re still participating in a capitalist system. Capitalism is responsible for all kinds of horrible things, like starvation and homelessness.

Why deny myself something fun when Evil Megacorp or Reprehensible Rich Person won’t notice or care, and the boycotts seem so randomly applied?

lol, yeah, that'll teach her.

If there's two things billionaires don't care about, it's money and popularity.

Remember the Howarts Legacy situation?

Did the boycott really hurt them?

Also there is an old saying that goes by "there is no such thing as bad publicity".

ITT adult fans defend their support of a genocidal monster with nostalgia feefees and thought-terminating cliches, but the ones calling for her boycott are the ones being unreasonable and reactive.
