I have long said that eventually they'll come for me. This admin is making it more and more a reality.

Listen to Adam Friedland on Chapo Traphouse until that happens. It’s hilarious. 😂

This is what nearly ~60% of the country voted for.

About ~30% directly and ~30% indirectly by not voting at all.

Don't let them say otherwise.

Edit: Looks like I hit a nerve. If you voted for Trump you voted for this. If you didn't vote then you also voted for this. Do better.

Already forgot about the "do not come" threats?

If you voted for Trump you voted for this, if you voted for Harris you Voted for this, if you didn't vote then you voted for this.

You seem to think a lot of us who held our nose while voting for Harris didn't vote. We complained loudly about our options. We still voted against the bad man because we had no choice. The metric is smaller than you think.

No, I am stating that ~30% of the population didn't vote at all. Which is the metric.

Not whether or not progressives did or did not.

I am saying to remember the people who allowed these things to happen.

It constantly amazes me how the people who can't be bothered to vote get so upset when you point out that they tacitly support the very things they hate by choosing not to participate.

I realize the sidebar says centrists are welcome here, so maybe that's your problem but, given the community name, do you actually consider yourself a progressive with that shit take?

---- <status_quo> ----

It's pretty obvious what happens when you vote. Sure, the Democrats really only represent status quo. But by voting for them at least you don't regress into fucking fascism. It's been shitty and I really hope Schumer kicks the bucket already so we can get leadership in the only party that even vaguely resembles a functioning representation of a democracy. But the whole "VoTe YoUr IdEaLs" approach just results in.... regression. If you want your ideals to be represented then fucking run for office or be rich enough to splash large amounts of money and influence the vote.

[-] TherapyGary 4 points 14 hours ago

Not only do the Democrats not do anything to stop fascism, they actively pave the way for it

When did I say that I was anything?

I'm putting blame on the people responsible for the current situation. So people don't forget who to blame when things get worse.

When the people responsible for things getting worse decide "this wasn't what I voted for" or "I didn't know", it's on the rest of us to hold them accountable.

>comments on "progressive politics" community

>content of comment is centrist neoliberal garbage

>"When did I say that I was anything?"

You didn't have to, lol

I'm not here specifically because it's a progressive community.

I'm here because this post was on my "All Posts" feed.

I had something I needed to say, so I said it. What I said is literally a fact.

You were offended by that fact and are trying to belittle me by stating I am certain things. It won't work.

I find it strange that I have more upvotes while you have more down votes. Even in a place that you consider your community. I wonder why that is.

I'm not here because it's a progressive community; I'm here because this post was on my "All Posts" feed, and no one had countered your dumb comment yet, so I felt it was important to do so before blocking you.

You were offended by that fact and are trying to belittle me by stating I am certain things.

I'm not commenting to make you feel any type of way- pretty self-absorbed that you would think so, actually. I'm commenting because you're spouting bullshit, and I felt that it shouldn't stand on its own without accompanying dissent.

[-] fujiwood@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

You tried to counter my "bullshit" but failed because you're wrong.

You're blocking me because you can't handle that I'm right.

Edit: That's fine honestly. It's one of the things I like most about Lemmy. You can block anything.

Look, ICE and union busters just want to make axe handles this year's must-have fashion accessory. Who are we to resist this trend?

[-] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 39 points 1 day ago

If there was any doubt as to the true purpose of the ICEtapo.
