Even the christians' Jesus attacked money lenders in the temple. You could argue that Luigi is doing the lords work and is a legitimate religious figure.

Haha the new CEO quit. Yeah, smart move

[-] alexc@lemmy.world 25 points 4 months ago

To be fair, this kind of fraud probably did predate him, but chances are it also won’t save him

[-] alexc@lemmy.world 19 points 4 months ago

And by save him, I meant from the $10 fine they tend to hand out to corporations for this kind of multi-million dollar illegal activity.

Just donate to Trump and it goes away.

the replacement CEO will now have to fix all the issues he created before the departing CEO took over... he must be over enjoyed about this second stint

It wasn't at gunpoint... Or was it?

"The trouble at UnitedHealth comes almost exactly six months after the murder of Brian Thompson, one of its top executives."

Curious that the article dilutes Thompson's position to "one of its top executives" against terming him "Witty's predecessor as CEO for over three and a half years."

[-] the_crotch@sh.itjust.works 13 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Thompson was CEO of United healthcare, one of several organizations under the UnitedHealth umbrella. He wasn't the top guy in the company. The article is accurate.

Appreciate the clarification.

Easy mistake to make

Bless Luigi. 🙏🏻

The brazen shooting of Thompson, in Midtown Manhattan, captured international attention and surfaced deep public resentment toward the healthcare industry.

I wonder what cnn expects us to think “surfaced” means here.

This likely should be Mangione’s new defence. He became aware of this illegal activity and was acting to protect shareholder value?

[-] TBi@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

Would that qualify as insider trading?

[-] alexc@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Possibly, but that’s just a token fine nowadays. Or free if you make a political donation to then right party

I would have preferred exploding, but I'll take it.
