People tend to focus on the negative but there's so many "symptoms" we have that are brilliant! What are yours?

How would my "diversity" give me strength? I am pretty monolithic inside of myself. I mean, obviously, one could say, that like all people, I do contain a multitudes I guess? But that is hardly special. Unles one is plural, it is hard to be "diverse" as an individual.

Did you perhaps mean "divergence from what is considered the norm"?

Yeah, there is absolutely nothing brilliant about my divergence. There is also nothing inherently bad about it. I am tired of the expectation to either treat it as a tragedy, or to use the fact of my difference as a selling point. I just am. I want to be allowed to be, and be safe.

I fix things for a living. I'm fairly good at my job because I can ignore the big picture and drill down on the specific problem that needs to be addressed. It also helps that I understand things best by fully understanding them - which is to say I like to know how things are built, so I can guess at their common failure points.

That's a brilliant strength!

I'm very good at organising things and focusing for a long time once I get into something. However, the rest of us have quite different skill sets. Some of us are very honest and won't be effected by others. Others are quite confident. and can pull off some amazing things!

That's great! Would you consider doing a post on organisation tips? I think a few of us struggle with that

We could try. Though since I'm 'just' autistic, it might not work for y'all, but I can post what we do.

I set about trying to answer this and imposter syndrome kicked in hard. But I'm learning to ignore that self-critical inner voice.

I'm great at problem-solving and finding creative solutions to difficult problems. That hyperfocus/obssessive thinking trait really comes to the fore here.

I'm also good at music, especially when it comes to analyzing and recreating particular sounds.

The hyperfocus really helps me too! I can become super interesting about things
