Also, if you say "Polish girl from Toronto" in Europe, it means you were born in Toronto but spent most of your life in Poland or one of the few Polish communities abroad, and speak Polish at the very least.

If you grew up in Poland and now live in Toronto then "Polish girl from Toronto" is also accurate
