Speedrunning a permaban on my 15 year old account. How many days do you think it will take?

Hahahahahahahhahahaha this is wild. It’s so blatant. It’s just so unrepentantly, obviously, nakedly blatant. Jesus fuck.

Like im glad you guys are all getting out and finding us and other similar communities, but like… the societal and systemic implications of them going so hard on this on reddit makes me shudder to consider how insane moderation must be getting on normie social networks, which have been traditionally WILDLY awful on that point even before we decided to break fascist. This is them actively and aggressively suppressing free speech. Mahmoud Khalil was/is another instance of that. This is us not keeping the republic.

Man isn't even convicted yet and his name is taboo.

The rich are scared. Good. They should be.

They can be scared, but unless ten, fifty, or one hundred green Mario brothers appear nothing will change.

[-] courageousstep@lemm.ee 83 points 1 day ago

That’s exactly what we need to take from this. Not that money is in control and that’s why they’re cracking down, but that they’re cracking down because they’re scared.

[-] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 16 points 1 day ago

Reddit is more okay with people where we have indisputable video of them killing someone else in cold blood than someone who police just say trust us bro he did it.

Amazing how the admins react to things

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, reading content that breaks the rules is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, thinking about breaking the law is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, protesting human rights violations is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, being an unapproved minority is also considered a violation."

"While you didn't post the rule-breaking content, not drinking enough verification cans is also considered a violation."

They're scared. Spez knows his neck is on the line in a more literal fashion than ever.

While you didn’t post the rule-breaking content, not buying a Tesla is also considered a violation.

Ahhhhhhhhh now I see what the enforcement angle is on orangeboi declaring that an “illegal boycott” (a term that makes roughly as much sense as “aerodynamic bedsheet”)

(a term that makes roughly as much sense as “aerodynamic bedsheet”)

What other kind of sheets would you get for a racecar bed?

You know, I hadn’t thought of that but it’s a good point.

Talk about the thought police! I saw it coming for awhile, but past me from a decade ago is shocked that Reddit has come to this.

[-] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 63 points 1 day ago

So they are dictating the things we can like now? Lol what a shit site that has become. Such a shame. I love it here though so I guess it all worked out

Yooooo I scrubbed my profile when I left but this would be a great way to finally get it dealt with for good.

Migrate your posts to lemmy first (some of the lemmy apps can do this in bulk). Then Edit your old posts and comments, slowly, then delete them slowly. It's your content not Reddits.

By doing this it devalues Reddit in the process as it becomes void of human content only left with AI slop. They certainly dont value the content creators which made Reddit so why should you.

[-] bignate31@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Can someone create a guide with this? Best tools, what to do if the comment thread isn't also on Lemmy, how to change your Reddit comments to gibberish, etc

Or does this guide already exist? (Should be included on the welcome letter to Lemmy if so)

I've been editing and deleting no more than about a dozen different comments at a time . Posts half that. Have random breaks, even creating gibberish comments

They couldn't make everyone hate him, so now they're trying to make everyone forget about him.

[-] Scrollone@feddit.it 6 points 1 day ago

How could people forget the first American hero in a long time?

We need more of him, if any.

[-] whaleiam@lemm.ee 12 points 1 day ago
[-] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

They have ways to roll this back from what I've heard.

[-] Captainautism@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 16 hours ago

Yep, apparently they backup accounts on a schedule.

[-] renzhexiangjiao 35 points 1 day ago

where on reddit can I find lots of Luigi content? I'm interested in having my 7yr old account banned

[-] TheGreatSnacku@lemm.ee 22 points 1 day ago

Before getting banned it's probably a good idea to remove or replace all of your posts and comments with something like https://redact.dev/services/reddit

Reddit monetizes the content that users create so remove that content. The admins probably have tools to restore deleted comments and posts but that takes effort and time and if enough time goes by data and backups get lost.

Tbh I really do think the ship has sailed on that. They’re 100% archiving and off lining (and probably violating the shit out of GDPR) stuff to sell to LLM companies. Not to mention, that data’s already been tokenized and ingested into the systems, and from a computational and logical standpoint, it’s actually a pretty fucking hard problem that people are still trying to figure out how to dis/prove, let alone do reliably and effectively.

Your shit’s been snarfed. So has mine. I don’t mean to be a dick, but we will need to get over it, because there’s no recourse here. Don’t forget, but just account for it and don’t get too bent out of shape over it.

[-] TimboSlice@discuss.online 3 points 1 day ago

Damn, that comment was a gut punch. Thanks for the wake up call

Hey, I don’t like it either, but that is, unfortunately, the way it be.

Cheers, friend. Find something that makes you happy today. <3
