my fatass thought you were talking about "Golden Corral" and I got confused...

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

I miss Golden Corral and HomeTown Buffet. Those were the days.

Come to Kentucky, we still got one!

I think...

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

I think...

Do us both a favor, don't look it up. Let's hold on believin.

I checked before seeing this and I got some news....

WE GOT 2 OF EM!

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

I do. But only if you got the quarters to pay for it... (I require quarters so I can kick ass at the local arcade u-u)

As long as they're bringing back their cart, I don't see the issue

[-] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 week ago

Yeah, they probably saw that one and think it's closer. As long as the cart is put back it shouldn't be an issue. If the corral is too far back then whoever design this parking space is at fault.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

It isn't so much that they did something "wrong". I don't even really blame the person themself. I find it more frustrating that many of us have grown so used to just leaving our problems for others to take care of, that we automatically walk 40ft to leave something where someone else will have to walk it 60ft, instead of walking the 20ft ourselves.

[-] DBT@lemmy.world 30 points 1 week ago

This person took the cart where they were supposed to instead of leaving it out like too many people do. Let’s bring it down a notch.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Sorry sir. I made a "tsk" sound to myself in my car and shook my head when I saw it. How many notches do I need to bring it down?

[-] DBT@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

One is fine. Thanks.

The second part of your comment, specifically, is where you surpassed reasonable notch levels.

Today the shop might be busy, with limited trolley availability, and this might end up being convenient. You’ve had a massive over reaction, and it’s essentially based on someone wasting their time and wearing out their shoes.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

It's really funny to me that my being frustrated by people's trained laziness is a "massive overreaction". Literally nobody has been effected by any of these events (the cart returner or my post), and I've largely forgotten about it, but everyone seems to think I'm tracking this person down to beat them with a garden hose.

This is a community where we go to bitch about small things we find irritating. If you don't want to see people complain about mundane things, why are we here?

[-] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Laziness? They put the cart where it's supposed to go. How is that laziness?

[-] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Was that corall otherwise empty?

If not, shuddup :-p

[-] werty@sh.itjust.works 24 points 1 week ago

They probably weren't thinking about it at all and took the trolley back on auto pilot. Then they turned around and realised thay had walked way too far, cringed internally, and hoped noone noticed. You noticed and you chose to mske fun of them for it. Confirming that those of us riddled with anxiety are correct to feel constant shame about every minor mistake we make. Thanks.

[-] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago

They were probably getting some extra exercise. For some people, just increasing light activity is their opening strategy for getting fit.

[-] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

And they were helping others getting some exercise. A true saint.

[-] TheCriticalMember@aussie.zone 22 points 1 week ago

At least they didn't just leave it in the closest empty parking space, like literally everyone around here does. 😡

[-] wolfeh@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

"They've got people for that."

[-] RedditWanderer@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Hey cut our friend some slack, it's probably PTSD from covid. Gather round, grandpas gonna tell a story..

There was a time you see, when it was not allowed to return your cart at the store as they had to be cleaned, you had to return it at the corral with the other biohazards.

They say that out there in the masses, some are still mentally in lockdown.

[-] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 week ago

Little did OP know that while they were watching this strange performance unfold, the other guy was sneaking up behind OP and stole their wallet.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

That's very funny, but I've actually got my wallet, right.. oh shit

[-] miss_demeanour@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago

It was a sophisticated drug transaction, and that play was intended to distract you.
Success.

[-] papalonian@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

Instead of distracting me, they could've made a new customer.

[-] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 3 points 1 week ago

I can't throw the cart into the corral and see if I can make them stick together inside the store.

[-] CrayonRosary@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

It's called job creation!

I don't remember having an issue with this when I pushed carts, but it was a long time ago and I suspect if I saw someone do this I would have pouted about it.

[-] KingDionysus@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago

I did carts for a little while, I wouldn't have cared at all. If one person leaves a cart out, everyone feels like they can. It's crazy how it just instantly becomes acceptable when everyone sees one cart out. But will walk then back when there isn't
