That would be America's loss, the only time NATO was ever called to action was after the US got attacked on 9/11. So it's not like the US is "protecting" Europe like he keeps whining, but I guess trump's only knowledge about history is that you can't put it in a sandwich.

It's literally designed to make Ukraine dependent on the us military industrial complex. It took them forever to approve HIMARS, then the f-16s, because political red tape. Afaik, neither are bleeding edge, and designed more to encourage 'hold the line' strategies than 'repel invaders' ones. The drones seem to be the most effective, though with considerable shorter range and payload capacity. IANAME, any people more familiar with the topic?

If the Europeans get their act together, any result that reduces the us influence in these matters is a good thing IMO.
