As insane as this is, Trump and Vance have not forgotten that Zalensky aligned himself with Kamala Harris before the election. So, they are wanting to see some 'Humble Pie' eaten. Its difficult for Zalensky to nagivate this hard feeling, and addressing it directly might be counter productive. It will probably work out in the end.
