Really dislike that we can't disable stories (AFAIK). Thank goodness for Beeper.
That's an advantage of having an open source client. Stuff like Forkgram or Nekogram on Fdroid could remove stories (if they were ever added in the first place, I haven't tested)
Last I checked, they didn't support separate chat topics.
What's the point of another app at this stage? Moving people is hard.
Beeper lets me connect to multiple services in one app (e.g., Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, iMessage).
There's no moving at all. it's just a bridge to use multiple messaging services in a single app. Everyone else you talk to stays on which ever app they want.
You have to trust the service with your data though. Some services won't be E2EE anymore. But their bridges are opensource so, you can self host them if you want
too bad I can't use that app since it's invite only
They have a waitlist, but I can invite you if you'd like.
Hi, if it's still possible I would like to get an invite too
Sent!
Stories are annoying, I hope there's an alternative client that can turn them off.
I think that it notified all of my contact list when i tried posting a story. Not doing that again. Removed it in shame.
I never used stories in Signal and I don't intend to in Telegram either
Signal having that shit is so off brand.
Yea I kinda agree but, it's very un-intrusive so I'm not bothered
at least you can disable it
I wish it had an option to prevent unknown people sending you messages. I'm getting fed up of the spam from people I don't know.
Does it not? I've never received a single spam message on telegram in my 6 years of use :S
