Big tech has the resources to live without section 230 protection. All of its competitors do not. This will only serve to kill off smaller sites (like this one) and lock us into a social media monopoly.

Similar to how they were fine with the government building a global spying apparatus which is now going to be turned on US citizens as soon as they figure out how to take over the NSA.

It's technically illegal to spy on US citizens, so they at least had to pretend they didn't use this intelligence for that sort of thing. If Trump decides to not follow that law (and I don't see why not), he'll give every cop access to that data to track down 'illegals' or 'antifa'.
