I've got bags from both! In fact, I probably have too many Arkel bags, but they provide so much function, and I use them all the time, that I'm fine with N + 1 for their stuff.
That said, I recently bought an Ortlieb pannier and I feel like it's better quality than the Arkel I have.
Oh, do share the models! I'm a huge fan of the Arkel cam locks, but Ortlieb is probably the most common brand I see for pannier bags.
Nice! I've got two Bug bags, purchased second hand at different times. One is "vintage" with the old style maple leaf on the Made in Canada tag, while the other is more like yours.
TBH, the bug is my least used of the bags I have. I'm a huge fan of the Metropolitan and the Signature H, but I also love the Shopper, Ultra Lite, Trailrider... and more... oh god, I like them all, really. LOL

Multiple trailers, panniers, handlebar bags, frame bags... I've used my bike(s) as a car replacement for nearly everything these past two years! Everything gets used, and I've got so many options at my disposal.
It's an investment, for sure, but I tend to go all in when I commit to something, and I don't see myself ever not using my bike for everything ๐

Iโve got two Atwater bags. Theyโre really nice. Iโve had some mixed experience with the company though, sadly. I hope it was just a blip. Quality, well designed, and handmade in Montreal.
