In the fallout of Elon Musk’s baffling appearance during President Donald Trump’s inauguration, a curious new front in the ongoing online culture war has emerged: a push by Reddit sports mods and users to ban links to X (formerly known as Twitter).

And it's not just sports subreddits, too.

On reddit, FFS.

"We can't let those Nazis contaminate OUR Nazis!"

[-] Botzo@lemmy.world 45 points 1 week ago

You know, I'm ok with it. It's the (ostensibly unpaid) mods, not the admins.

Anybody drawing lines in the sand that impact Nazis negatively, is not "a bad guy" today.

I agree with Botzo on this one. These are mods of some of the largest and most active communities on Reddit. They're just doing what they can to keep the lights on.

Or... just don't perform unpaid labor for capital.

[-] newthrowaway20@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Well seeing as that already happens, the cat might be out of the bag on that.

Even America teamed up with the Communists to fight Nazis.

...Elon Musk’s baffling appearance during President Donald Trump’s inauguration...

What was so baffling about it? The man bough and paid for control over Trump. It would have been a massive shock if he wasn't there.

Or maybe his "gesture" was baffling, because they refuse to accept that the richest man in the world is a Nazi.

I misread that title, taking 'sports' as a verb (not r/sports) and just assumed I didn't know what the hell it meant to 'sport' a mod.
