The Eiffel tower, a national landmark of the US.

I like the two pairs of tweezers held prongs to palm as the bbq tongs. Or are they wishbones???

And the holding of a super stacked slider crosswise just by the fixings.

And the Escher-esqe arrangement of the kettle grill in the background, inside of which is placed a ginormous burger that has somehow migrated in front of the grillists elbow.

Fun fact:

The Eiffel tower and the Statue of liberty have both been built by the same engineer: Gustave Eiffel.

[-] NoSpotOfGround@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

And they were both built in France.

I always forget what soggy is in swedish, but most of us are fluent enough to understand our swenglish if we just inject the english word

[-] zxqwas@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

Do we have a word for it? Google translate suggestions are unsatisfactory to me .

[-] name_NULL111653@pawb.social 4 points 5 months ago

Are any of these about right? I'm just beginner in Swedish (native English) but they seem pretty close.

[-] zxqwas@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

I'd say blöt and degig translates to wet and doughy and they are about as close as wet or doughy. Maybe a nuance we're missing a word for in Swedish.

This has started happening to me worryingly often in German, I fear soon I will speak 2 languages quite well, but none fluently.

[-] crabonhead@sh.itjust.works 5 points 5 months ago

Welcome to the Club. I have to seriously concentrate to speak German without interjecting English words/phrases.
