Some flavors are better than others. Bubbly makes a comparable regular lime, but La Croix has the best key lime which I prefer.

Make your own. Here, I got this from another lemming

a real CO2 cylinder with a CGA 320 valve (the 10lb size is plenty) a CGA-320 CO2 regulator some 1/4" ID reinforced PVC tubing a carbonation cap + 1/4" barb ball lock disconnect

[-] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

It’s good if you don’t like strong carbonation “flavor” I just drink store brand carbonated water because it’s cheaper and I like the carbonation

[-] MxRemy@piefed.social 4 points 3 months ago

Loves me some

[-] ArtVandelay@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

It's ok, but I prefer Spindrift.

[-] mmhmm@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago

I love them in the summer. They are refreshing.

I really like tacking a pack of la Croix (or kombutcha) to a party or BBQ. I can chug through them like beer and be a responsible human at the end of the event. That no calorie and not artificial shit is a big big plus

It's the vape pen of the soda world!

They have my permission to use this, heh.

[-] Lettuceeatlettuce@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago

They're alright, decent bang for the buck. If you need to quit soda like me, they help.

[-] JPSound@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

My wife loves it and I hate it for the exact same reasons.

[-] Cornflake@pawb.social 3 points 3 months ago

Haven't had La Croix, but in general I love carbonated water. It's quite possible I drink more sparkling water than I drink tap water because my tap just tastes yucky for some reason.

[-] papertowels@lemmy.one 4 points 3 months ago

Try a pitcher filter! I've found it can make a big difference in taste.

[-] proper@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Spicy water

[-] Lighttrails@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 months ago

I enjoy a Lacroix depending on the flavor- Passionfruit is my favorite. The top tie, first round pick for sparkling water in my book is Topo Chico. Add a little bit of lime juice and a splash from a ginger bug on the rocks and you have a spicy treat

[-] MargotRobbie@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

Would taste better if it is slightly sweeter.

[-] Psythik@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

That's not the point

[-] huquad@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 months ago

There are a few alternatives with minimal calories (5-10) that add fruit juice for a bit more punch. Works really well for grapefruit in particular

[-] pinapelz@social.moekyun.me 3 points 3 months ago

Not the best tasting thing in the world but like a lot of people said it’s a good substitute for soda and it usually hits my cravings (but sometimes I decide to mix some sorta drink powder into it turning it back into a pseudo-soda)

[-] Blackrook7@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Splash of cranberry juice for me

[-] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 3 points 3 months ago

They're fine. I keep some stocked in the fridge because friends like them.

[-] plm00@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 months ago

It's fizzy water flavored by filtering juice through a balloon.

[-] tiefling 3 points 3 months ago

I need the fizzy water

[-] weeeeum@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Honestly all brands of seltzer are equal, even cheap ones. And I really like seltzer. I just get whatever is cheapest.

La Croix is fine, got a bunch from my boss after a party of his. It's very unexceptional

It sucks. Generic store seltzer is better.

[-] Today@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

It's ok. I prefer club soda from the gun and most restaurants here don't charge for that.

It irritates me when people say, "i don't drink soda" and then grab a flavored bubbly water.

[-] kat@orbi.camp 4 points 3 months ago

La Croix considered a soda? Welp, guess my lime flavored water is a soda too lol

Fun fact, you can refill soda stream bottles with dry ice. Just make sure to measure with a scale

[-] Interstellar_1 2 points 3 months ago

Very nice. Better than any other sparkling water brands for sure.

[-] ComradeMiao@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 months ago

It’s fine but I make my own

[-] HurlingDurling@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

It's good, but I prefer my filtered water from the fridge

[-] stevedice@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

It knows what taste is.
