The sun is billions of years old, unimaginably powerful, and it makes life on Earth possible. Sounds pretty godlike to me.

The sun is probably the closest thing we’ll ever have to a true Eldritch Abomination. Hear me out here-
- Older than recorded history; was here longer than any of us and will be here long after we leave. Has a finite beginning and end but is still incomprehensibly ancient
- Burns itself into your vision instantly and can blind you if you look for too long
- Further prolonged exposure can cause cancerous growths
- Non-humanoid shape floating through space; colossal flaming tentacles angrily lash out on occasion
- Sort of just appeared one day and is now surrounded by the corpses of its stillborn children
- People used to sacrifice other people to appease it
- Pretty sure it screams at us sometimes
It may wipe out all life on Earth at any moment with the equivalent of a fart and not notice.
And it's constantly screaming at us.
And when it gets mad it turns off our cell reception
It is good. But Is "opening the chest to sacrifice the heart of people" good?
Better than burning "witches" alive.
That's basically the reason I have a massive sun tattoo taking up my entire right shoulder

Sun worship I could get behind, as long as it's not used to exert power over others. The sun is real and it powers almost all life on earth.
I’ve really liked switching to celebrating the solar holidays (solstices, equinoxes, and midway points between them). They’re good times to take walks and think about life and the natural world
It's sad that former colonies are some of the most ardent believers in the Abrahamic lies.
There is nothing especially sad about it, all religions are equally good/bad.
That's beside the point. I'm talking about the believers and their level of belief.
I once went to see the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. It's very beautiful, and I'll happily visit again when it's finally finished. However, when the tour guide told me to look up at the tower of Michael, or whichever butt buddy of Jesus it was, I could only see the one true god.
