Oh my god, they wouldn't consider genocide would they?!

[-] Glasgow@lemmy.ml 8 points 8 months ago

Now they’re gonna do super genocide and expand to Greater Israel

[-] Fitik@fedia.io 2 points 8 months ago

Maybe HAMAS should release the hostages then?

[-] BMTea@lemmy.world 11 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

Does Hamas have any guarantee that doing so will stop a single thing Israel is doing or will do? The answer is clearly no because - as even rational factions in Israel will concede - the war is about population engineering, land annexation and settlement, not the hostages. It was clear from the very first two weeks when that intelligence report leaked laying out war options which included exactly what we are seeing, when Israeli leadership declared starvation plans and stated that Gaza would be reduced to a "city of tents." And just last week the IDF let kahanist lunatic settler Daniella Weiss enter the strip to survey land for settlement. The hostages don't matter on any political level, only on a propaganda, morale and moral level.

Hamas cant even be sure that the IDF won’t shoot the hostages

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 1 points 8 months ago

Can't tell if trumper or centrist.

To the people who stayed home or voted 3rd party because they claimed to care about the people of Gaza.

How about you fucking wait until we see what he'll do before being smug about it? He says "hell to pay" but that's exactly what Biden has been doing, with more platitudes.

[-] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago

Fair enough. It’s just sad that more people have to die but you are correct that Biden isn’t doing a damn thing either.

[-] moody@lemmings.world 28 points 8 months ago

If Israel cared about hostages being released, they would have handled it by now. They've given up on saving the hostages, and just using them as an excuse to massacre civilians.

[-] circuitfarmer@lemmy.sdf.org 21 points 8 months ago

Oh but haven't you heard? No wars under Trump. Trump will end it as soon as he takes office, or so I heard from some voters dumb enough to no longer be in my life.

[-] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 16 points 8 months ago

Is it possible a deal is nearing, and Donald Trump is posturing to take credit for it?

[-] EndOfLine@lemmy.world 22 points 8 months ago

The Biden administration has been working since last year with Israel and international mediators, including Qatar and Egypt, on a cease-fire deal that would include release of the hostages.

I'm sure this is just a coincidence and all that was really needed to end the conflict was an old man yelling "Don't make me come in there".

After all, Hamas has such a long history of being scared of the US and trying to avoid poking that particular bear. /s

[-] MyTurtleSwimsUpsideDown@fedia.io 4 points 8 months ago

More likely he is posturing to take credit for whatever he can regardless of the outcome.

[-] dhork@lemmy.world 11 points 8 months ago

Yup, we elected Trump again. And there'll be Hell Toupee.

Isn't this the fascist that called prisoners of war losers? As if he gives two shits about hostages...

[-] Zier@fedia.io 8 points 8 months ago

LOL! Fat Donnie will help Netanyahoo delete Gaza. What a scum!

[-] whithom@discuss.online 1 points 8 months ago

ML: but what about genocide Joe?!?!

[-] BMTea@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago

Gazans with infected amputation wounds starving in tents: "Oh no! He'll take away our 1 daily piece of bread."

[-] the_tab_key@lemmy.world 4 points 8 months ago
