I hate when ppl give sum stupid ass advice w/o knowing Your situation...

"Just get a different job... Just get a job closer to You ..."

Most of us are huminerals and it's not simple as those people say it is.

The middle class is a joke ๐Ÿ˜ญ ๐Ÿ˜” to the corporate overlords n the gov does nothing to fix this...

[-] Blapoo@lemmy.ml 22 points 1 year ago

Empathy. A lot of people who give such advice don't have it. And while I don't know your situation, I, too, can relate to working hard my whole life and still having nothing. I sincerely hope you can find peace amongst the madness.

Also, eat the rich ^_^

Why would the government do anything? The government benefits from your wage slavery.

This is why we have unions and revolutionary groups.

Ye... Idk, in US they was quite successful at disassembling (many*) Unions... And they do their best to keep folks from unionizing.

Does Sweden have unions btw?

[-] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah we do, it's taken for granted that all workers are part of a union, it's how we do minimum wage instead of having a law about it.

not lucky, the result of people like you and me always remembering that unions make us strong.

Get a life. Get some hobbies.

[-] DONTBANTHISACCOUNT@kbin.social 38 points 1 year ago

Sounds like they don't have to much time for that... Because of work

[-] Baconheatedradiator@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I find it difficult to believe that most people don't have a spare 30/45/60 mins in their day where a hobby can be pursued.

People will spend that time scrolling social media, or watching TV, but then complain that they don't have enough time for their own hobbies or well-being.

The 5 day, 40 hour working week, is definitely outdated and I would argue for change, but people don't help themselves on this particular topic. Get a life, get some hobbies.

When you get older, you start to understand physically having time for something and mentally having time for something. Most people DO in fact manage to find half an hour to an hour for themselves a day, but need to spend that time trying to unwind or de-stress from an already busy life. Pursuing a hobby during those precious few moments will just add to the already busy day and make things more stressful.

Sometimes you just want to sit down in front of your TV or PC for an hour and not talk to anyone or have any obligations before getting back to the grind, and that's the only thing keeping you sane.

Oh sure getting 30 minutes a day to yourself is amazing. How generous of our corporate overlords to give us 30 minutes!

[-] DONTBANTHISACCOUNT@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Lol ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜† I was ๐Ÿค” thinking roughly about the same.

Thank You for putting down the words I couldn't

[-] Baconheatedradiator@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Did you read the part where I said the 40 hour working week is outdated?

Who knew Lemmy could be so toxic.

Grow up brother. Or maybe just get a life and get some hobbies.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 6 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Said by someone with no commute, no chores, and no problems in their life in need of maintenance and supervision

The only way i can make time for my hobbies after work is by staying up til 2AM

[-] Baconheatedradiator@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Ah I'm glad you know me so well.

Mate if you don't wanna be called privileged, don't make it so obvious

[-] Wilker 2 points 1 year ago

say you go out at 5:40 to arrive at 7, 1h break at 12, leave at 16 to arrive at anywhere between 17:30 and 19 depending on transit. that is 13.5 hours remaining of the 24h day best case. minus 8 assuming a human person can sleep and wake up on command, minus 1h assuming a reasonable food can be both be prepared and eaten in a single hour without rushing like one is expected to do on a 1h break during work (oh wait). hey look! 3.5 remaining, that's plenty! well what about the chores? surely, practicing higiene in both your house and your body doesn't take long, otherwise you'll have to do all your house chores in your off day of the week, so say 1 hour every day. congratulations! you got a whole 2.5 hours of the remainder of the day! now start counting, go go go go!

oh wait, i'm sorry, i forgot you speedran enjoying your food like a normal person does, so now you still have 30mins from that lunch break at work, or that you slept just a little less (say, 6 hours sleep) to get more awake time to do your hobbies or chores later. well enjoy! i mean, assuming your brain can just keep moving and being active to perform your hobbies. just remember you have that time because you spent less time doing productive things like cleaning just a bit more of your home or something that could have gotten you just a bit more money for yourself. don't forget you still have to make up for those negligible minutes of sleep at some point in your life, the clock is ticking, you think your brain won't fail you in demanding that time back?

Move to a place closer to your work, or look for a new job closer to home.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 6 points 1 year ago
