This is not a thousand year conflict. It’s modern imperialism

Ah yes, opposing genocide is a radical far-left position. Of course.

Sadly in American politics it is, if you support anti-imperialism or the end of capitalism tyranny that makes you a radical leftist (according to the shit libs). I say we wear that as a bage of honor, I am a proud radical leftist.

the israeli declaration of independence was 76 years ago

[-] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago

The conflict between ethnic groups is much older though.

This is extremely misleading. Fuck Trump 10000 times and kamala is the only sane choice, but stop trying to paint over reality to try and make her look like she's not just a lesser evil.

She didn't just "not promise to solve 1000 year conflict" (which the genocide has been going on for the last 75 years),

she did promise to continue funding genocide with American taxpayer dollars. (Of which the US has been giving and average of $5 billion in tax dollars and weapons to Isreal per year for the last 75 years, since they first invaded Palestine).

We are voting for her because she is the lesser evil. We don't have to be happy about it or stop criticizing her on her bad policies.

Basically: Vote for Harris, but also fuck her for vowing to continue funding genocide. Trump would also keep funding genocide, and he'd also destroy what's left of the west, on top of every other obvious reason he should never be in power again (and never should have been).

Nobody expects Kamala to solve it. They do expect her to stop supporting genocide.

I really can't understand why people fail to get this.

I'm not one of the withhold-voting, or vote 3rd party people, but I think it's probably driven by deep moral disgust of both parties preventing people from being able to willingly vote for Hitler 1 over Hitler 2. As an extreme example (which probably is the case for some Americans, but not "significant electorally"), if I was a Palestinian-American, and had many family members killed by weapons supplied under Biden's orders, I probably wouldn't be able to bring myself to vote for his number-2, even if I thought it was the lesser-evil. People have different levels of emotional empathy, and different principles and philosophies. Refusing to participate in an unjust system is a valid stance.

Most, if not all, of them do. The majority of them are just sowing dissent.

If others are like me, we're just getting tired of explaining this shit over and over and over...

But the funny thing is, these idiots think they're helping Trump/hurting Harris, when in reality, all they are doing is giving more attention to the explanations that we've all been typing out over and over and over (i.e. the actual reality of our situation).

When you answer that kind of question in a public forum, it's often more about others seeing it and learning/understanding something, than it is about convincing the obvious troll of something when they probably don't even believe the thing they said in the first place.

So the joke's on them, they've just been making sure that everybody who visits this site understands that voting for a third party candidate in this election (or not voting) is a vote for Trump and a vote to give Netanyahu carte blanche to expand the ongoing genocide of Palestinians.

The multiple typos in Harris's statement point to the author either being lazy or trying to portray her as an idiot

Kamala might fund genocide in Israel. But Trump will fund genocide in Israel, and genocide here.

We can be ideologically pure when we don’t have fascists at the doorstep. Thousands of children just FUCKING VANISHED during Trumps term. What’s going to happen during his second? Texas was (is?) putting barbed wire in the river on the fucking border. Trump will give free rein to murderous politicians (Texas is also about to execute another innocent man btw). People are going to die here.
