In a response to Spez threatening to put reopening subreddits to a poll, /r/pics has gotten ahead of the game and voted to reopen, but only allow "Images of John Oliver looking sexy".

This is legitimately brilliant, because this is the kind of thing that would potentially get John Oliver to mention this on air, and you know whose side he would take in the matter.

[-] meggied90@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Unfortunately he hasn't had new content in a while because of the writer's strike. He absolutely would have a killer piece of he wasn't paused in solidarity of the writers right now.

[-] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 11 points 1 year ago

That's fine, though - I'm glad he's standing with the striking writers. When the strike is over, maybe he'll cover it.

[-] GunnarRunnar@kbin.social 2 points 1 year ago

Potentially. Too bad there aren't any sexy pics of him.

You know it’s gonna be good when the page makes you swear you’re old enough

Apple should re-open, but only allow discussion of the fruit.

/r/selfawarewolves is currently holding a poll as to whether the sub should switch to pictures of literal wolves instead of the boring political wolves that had been the mainstay previously.

[-] onepinksheep@kbin.social 7 points 1 year ago

Thanks for the heads up! I voted on the r/pics one, so I'm off to vote on the r/selfawarewolves one. Unfortunately, it looks like the wolf pics option is losing. :(

[-] chaogomu@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah. I'm sad about it as well. But it has a couple of days to finish out.

[-] GreatBigJerk@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago

Or only debates on how likely John Oliver would fuck specific Apple products.

[-] No_Change_Just_Money@feddit.de 20 points 1 year ago

This is the only argument I have ever heard that would persuade me to go back to reddit.com

[-] DrrringBat@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

I did go back just to look at the sub and it is beautiful.

[-] Spitfire@pawb.social 6 points 1 year ago

It’s glorious.

But I worry about the amount of people calling for admins to take over the sub.

Reddit is dead to me though.

Mods are supposed to have discretion of what goes on in their sub!

[-] Firefeet@pawb.social 17 points 1 year ago

Malicious compliance is the best kind of compliance!

[-] foxy@pawb.social 7 points 1 year ago

Finally, a righteous use for ai art

[-] SpaceSnek@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Amazing idea. Still keeps the sub open and appeases current Reddit rules and regulations.

Oh, great, now that I'm off Reddit they go and create the perfect sub.

[-] GlassHalfHopeful@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

This honest to dog hilarious!

[-] cavemeat@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

[-] Verity_kindle@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Stop, stop, it’s already dead! :::pokes Reddit with a stick:::

[-] yProwler@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

How great would it be if every subreddit reopened and only featured JO‽

[-] Thetrademarq@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago
