#1 only if you want a Hitler moustache. I prefer #2

[-] Decoy321@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

Charlie Chaplin got done dirty. He was rocking that stache for decades earlier.

[-] thatsTheCatch@lemmy.nz 5 points 6 days ago

Some of Hitler's bodyguards said that Hitler was a fan of Chaplin. There's speculation (but not evidence) that he borrowed it because he liked Chaplin

[-] Toneswirly@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

I always heard that it was a common style for the working class, and Hitler was trying to ingratiate himself to them.

[-] littlecolt@lemm.ee 6 points 6 days ago

Ever seen Red Dwarf? There was a talking toaster in that.

[-] three@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago
[-] littlecolt@lemm.ee 2 points 6 days ago

Yes! I had forgotten his name! Haha wow, I need to go watch that show again, it's been a long time.

[-] MimicJar@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

#2 because it allows you to later give them a mustache (#1), which is funny but the toaster isn't amused.

[-] pishadoot@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

What is the personality of the toaster?

One looks like your friend's dad when he comes home and finds everyone has not only left on all the lights in the house but have also left the fridge open

Other one looks like a guy in early 20s that is on a bus and some fucker is doom scrolling tiktok loud without headphones

I'd say they're both great but you gotta decide what kind of cranky toaster you're going with

[-] Black616Angel@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 6 days ago

Make the upper one more mustache-y by making the stache longer than the lips and bend it downwards on the outside.

[-] Mobiuthuselah@lemm.ee 3 points 6 days ago

Get it to the corners of the lips and thick, you got a Tom Selleck, just around the edge, you have a Ron Swanson, 2cm past, you're into Fu Manchu territory

[-] mxcory 2 points 6 days ago

Number 1 but the upper line is the mouth and the lower line is the chin.

[-] JASN_DE@lemmy.world 210 points 1 week ago

What's the first supposed to be, Adolf Toastler?

[-] ShareMySims@sh.itjust.works 108 points 1 week ago

Good friend of Kettle Hitler

kettle hitler

And they sit next to each other on the kitchen counter at Führer house

hitler house

[-] weegee90@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago

The house looks more like Jamie Hyneman with his barret to me.

[-] ShareMySims@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago

If I have to look the guy up, he's not well known enough to overtake the Hitler resemblance lol

[-] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 8 points 6 days ago

This guy clearly didn't watch mythbusters in the mid 2000s

[-] Chocrates@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

I thought Jamie hyneman was a household name.
How old are you?

[-] Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 48 points 1 week ago

Oh, man... sorry it's coming off like that. Since it's called the Humorless Toaster, the main inspiration is Ron Swanson. At least that's what I was going for...

[-] JASN_DE@lemmy.world 43 points 1 week ago

Ah. I think the moustache needs to be wider for that. Also, a label might be in order. Ron Toasterson or something.

[-] bassomitron@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Agreed, wider and thicker with maybe a wavy/ ridge texture on the bottom half of the mustache and slight rounding/flaring on the sides that narrows to the top.

Feels like that's a good reference pic for OP.

Edit:

But I do prefer #2 more. Like others have said, it's simpler and easier to tell the expression.

Yeah you got the mustache in that realm. I don't think it was intentional, but Hitler really did ruin the shortened mustache look.

[-] Timecircleline@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Have you tried a design where it has a mustache for a mouth? As another lemming described, wider and wavy at the bottom. And then it can move up and down when it talks?

Edit: quick and dirty mockup. This would be my vote

[-] SassyRamen@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Just slap on a brown cutout mustache

Upvote for Hitler. OP, I don't know if intended, but a certain German politician was the first thing coming to mind

I agree. This is the best.

[-] Jessica@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 1 week ago

This is how I keep seeing option 1 where the longer line is a chin/fat roll 😅

Number 2. Unless you firmly believe there's no such thing as bad publicity.

[-] DaddleDew@lemmy.world 89 points 1 week ago

One is them is angry, the other is furherious

[-] Barzaria@lemmy.dbzer0.com 79 points 1 week ago

Toaster 1 looks like Hitler. Don't use toaster 1.

[-] Mnemnosyne@sh.itjust.works 10 points 6 days ago

Counterpoint: toaster 1 looks like Hitler. Use toaster 1.

[-] vikingtons@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I think the second one. Assuming the middle bit is a nose, fewer details make for better deadpan toaster expression

[-] celeste@kbin.earth 37 points 1 week ago

2 for me. 1 took longer to parse.

[-] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago

2, but make him look more indifferent and less angry I think.

[-] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 25 points 1 week ago

I can’t believe this isn’t a joke

[-] watersnipje 23 points 1 week ago

The second. The nose-mustache of the first is confusing.

[-] FrostyCaveman@lemm.ee 22 points 1 week ago

Der Humorless Toaster ist nicht hier fur dein scheisse!

[-] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago
[-] antmzo220@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Oh no, the Hitler particles have crossed the human toaster barrier.

[-] Berttheduck@lemmy.ml 19 points 1 week ago

Depending on what you're going for, 1 and give them a German accent. Otherwise 2.

[-] Road_Warrior_10@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Wasn't going for German that's for sure, although...

For anyone curious, the game I'm working on is kind of inspired by The Stanley Parable, and you can check it out on Steam, maybe even wishlist (it would help a lot) : https://store.steampowered.com/app/2336120/Do_Not_Press_The_Button_To_Delete_The_Multiverse/

[-] frankspurplewings@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

2 for sure one has a confusing mouth-stache

[-] computergeek125@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Who let out 426?? I thought I was supposed to be in a windowless room!

(/j)

referenceICYMI, the joke is about SCP-426
