Snoop 'nothing but love and respect for donald trump' Dogg? GTFO.

[-] RageAgainstTheRich@lemmy.world 81 points 1 month ago

Its so fucked because he was VERY anti trump. Then trump got his buddy released from jail and suddenly he is a big fan...

[-] FatTony@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I guess this dog got its treat.

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/donald-trump-snoop-dogg-us-election-b2486465.html

Basically, Dogg did a 180 and went from attacking Trump to supporting him because Trump got his buddy and co-founder of his first label Michael Harris off of Death Row. He went from making anti-Trump music and being publicly known for messing with Trump to suddenly going "he ain't done nothing wrong to me, he has only done good things for me. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump."

It sounds entirely self-serving if you ask me, kissing the ass of Donald Trump because he did something nice for you even though he's still hurting the very culture Snoop claims to represent. What a fucking traitor. Fuck Snoop Dogg.

To be clear, the record label is Death Row Records. He was initially charged with attempted murder but that was dropped and he wasn't ever facing the death penalty. He was behind bars for 33 years for running a "nationwide drug trafficking operation that brought in nearly $2 million daily." Snoop now owns Death Row Records.

Sounds about right. The prisoner to warden pipeline

[-] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 1 month ago

How did I not know this until right now? WTF!?!?!

[-] Banichan@dormi.zone 31 points 1 month ago

Snoop is the textbook definition of overstaying one's welcome. That wannabe rasta shit killed my interest in any that that dude is up to. Watch his documentary "Reincarnated" for some Grade-A cringe 😬

[-] Sanguine_Sasquatch@lemmy.world 28 points 1 month ago

No one is forcing you to keep up with Snoop.

[-] Banichan@dormi.zone 14 points 1 month ago
[-] Sanguine_Sasquatch@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

So if no one is forcing you to keep up with Snoop, why are you? It sounds like it's bringing you nothing but unhappiness

[-] Banichan@dormi.zone 25 points 1 month ago

Don't psychoanalyze me, internet guy.

Dude who shit in your coffee this morning?

[-] SharkEatingBreakfast@sopuli.xyz 20 points 1 month ago

Snoop Dogg, I'd wager.

[-] Banichan@dormi.zone 7 points 1 month ago

You're not clever.

[-] Hydra_Fk@reddthat.com 7 points 1 month ago

Murder was the case was the last song I enjoyed, everything after that has been pop-celebrity-rap.

[-] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago

*side eye meme

...I kinda liked his reggae album

[-] Banichan@dormi.zone 13 points 1 month ago

He was appropriating a deeply religious culture, and got called out on it by prevalent figures within said culture, which is why he stopped. He's a poser.

[-] dumbass@leminal.space 3 points 1 month ago

Dont forget that he once claimed to be the reincarnation of Bob Marley, even tho Snoop was about 10 when Bob Marley died.

So if true, Snoop had no soul for 10 years until Bob Marley died and took over.

yo dawg that horse is crip walkin’

I got to see Snoop and Wiz Khalifa at the Jones Beach Amphitheatre in 2016 or 17 (thanks to VetTix).

I was one of the oldest people there and still thought it was fucking amazing.

[-] Shawdow194@kbin.run 5 points 1 month ago

Wiz throws a good show!

[-] BigTrout75@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

It's been the Snoop and Peyton Manning show. Sucks because they are both stealing the spotlight from the athletes.

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Alternately its bringing more eyeballs to the event as well. So is it a net positive?

[-] BigTrout75@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Hope that's it and not just because Snoop is releasing a new album and that football guy I'd promoting Monday night football

[-] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Sell out donkey. Annoying AF.

[-] zabadoh@ani.social 4 points 1 month ago

You gotta represent something to begin with in order to sell out.

[-] woelkchen@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

He is a Trump supporter, so I guess he's going to represent Trump.

[-] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

He thought he was "gangsta" , "hip hop"... He's crap.
