All the stories like this just solidify my decision to leave the Catholic church and become an atheist... it's unbelievable how this is basically a slap on the wrist and the justice system is OK with it.

Another reason for me to feel justified for not letting my parents take my son to church functions. Nothing happened to me as a kid but goddamn I couldn't fathom putting my son anywhere near that stuff.

After the many thousands of cases should we not ban contact with priests and children? They clearly can’t be trusted.

Like, in the realms of priest sexual abuse, this is pretty mild.
