That looks like a soulless corporate HQ

[-] RealFknNito@lemmy.world 32 points 11 months ago

It looks like I need to send my engineer into it for a science based objective. Bro actually lives there.

You’re not wrong

[-] De_Narm@lemmy.world 101 points 11 months ago

I'm gonna be honest, I love that design. That comparison just makes it better, those games had a big part in my childhood.

[-] QuantumSparkles@sh.itjust.works 56 points 11 months ago

I like it as a building, but not as a home. I’d absolutely launch my mech suit from there but I wouldn’t necessarily want to curl up in my pajamas with my dog there

[-] Khrux@ttrpg.network 14 points 11 months ago

Yeah this is a fantastic building for the robotics complex at a university.

[-] veroxii@aussie.zone 15 points 11 months ago

You could be Tony Stark or some super villain in that house for sure.

[-] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 11 months ago

People hate on Bieber but I love his ridiculous tastes—I’ve always wanted a fully chrome car and this hideous but kinda beautiful building absolutely looks like something from SimCity 2000.

[-] mortemtyrannis@lemmy.ml 7 points 11 months ago

Justin Bieber confirmed Command and Conquer nerd.

[-] 3ntranced@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

If it had a stone facade instead of the sleek gray I'd be all over it.

[-] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 26 points 11 months ago

And it came out in 2000 NOT 1999 🙄🙄🙄

[-] deezbutts@lemm.ee 18 points 11 months ago

Ya people should put some respect on that name

[-] cynar@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

It's horrifying that RA2 is almost a 1/4 century old.

Proof that you can have money and not be classy

[-] TheDarksteel94@sopuli.xyz 33 points 11 months ago

Honestly, the majority of people with lots of money that live in my city have the least classy houses. It's either some soulless concrete corpo block or some gaudy thing with roman pillars in front of the entrance. That's the shit they don't show you on GQ lol

[-] MissJinx@lemmy.world 9 points 11 months ago

Why tho?! Can't they hire people with good taste to tell them this is shit?! oh well... i guess if I had bilions I wouldn't care about pesants opinions either

[-] FellowEnt@sh.itjust.works 9 points 11 months ago

My parents live on a street where all the local footballers/celebs like to live. Without exception, they buy these beautiful ~£1,000,000 old houses, demolish them and replace with some nasty gaudy affront to architecture that absolutely screams new money. Almost all have those pillars...

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 26 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

SimCity 2000 landmark.

[-] milicent_bystandr@lemm.ee 26 points 11 months ago

[-] Kushan@lemmy.world 12 points 11 months ago

RA2 was from 2000 but otherwise accurate.

[-] DJDarren@thelemmy.club 6 points 11 months ago

Isn’t that where Big Head lived in Silicon Valley?

[-] SecretPancake@feddit.de 6 points 11 months ago

I was thinking Sim City 2000

[-] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 5 points 11 months ago

[-] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 11 months ago
