MTG needs to do the right thing and go live in Russia where she belongs

[-] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 22 points 6 months ago

Put her on a rocket and shoot it into space

[-] Naja_Kaouthia@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Just tell her she’s there to install the border lasers.

[-] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

She can go out there and destroy the Jewish space lasers

She's just trying to keep the government dysfunctional. She needs to go live with her employers in Russia.

[-] Bartsbigbugbag@lemmy.ml 4 points 6 months ago

Believe it or not, this is American politics. Not everything goes back to red scare propaganda about Russia infiltrating the US.

[-] clgoh@lemmy.ca 37 points 6 months ago

You're right. Not everything.

But this is.

[-] Bartsbigbugbag@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 months ago

a convenient cop out is what this is. You think someone as dumb as her could really keep a secret like that? You think she’s smart enough to have Opsec standards? You really believe she’s using burner phones and dead drops to communicate with Moscow? She can’t read above a fifth grade level and she’s outsmarting the three letter agencies and secret service?

[-] clgoh@lemmy.ca 28 points 6 months ago

This is an amendment she presented:

No funding shall be made available to Ukraine unless restrictions on ethnic minorities', including Hungarians in Transcarpathia, right to use their native languages in schools are lifted."

If she's so dumb, where does it come from?

Transcarpathia? Seriously?

Boy I don't know if you've been paying attention or not, but she ain't exactly keeping it a secret. This ain't a spy novel, you don't even need to hide it. You just take the donations wherever they come.

Russia tends to use useful idiots. She doesn't need to outsmart anyone. She doesn't even need to know she's working for Russia. But somehow she always ends up doing things that disproportionately benefits Russia.

[-] Cethin@lemmy.zip 14 points 6 months ago

Dude. This is America. You can be bribed legally. She doesn't hide any of it. Maybe it's hidden from you because you purposefully cover your eyes and make noise anytime anyone tries to make you aware of it. That doesn't mean it's actually a secret.

You a bot or troll? Komrade?

[-] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 26 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Yeah, I can't believe anyone would dare try to like the Republican party to Russia. Next thing you'll see is people claiming that Republican politicians flew to Moscow on July 4th, but that's just a crazy accusation that is too crazy to be believable.

A comparison this bad could only come from a brain so smooth it's frictionless.

Either that, or you need to explain your logic, because the problem here isn't just a visit....

[-] Conyak@lemmy.tf 6 points 6 months ago

True, but in this case it certainly does.

[-] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 5 points 6 months ago

You think she understands the ethnic details of people in Ukraine and just happens to have formed an opinion that agrees with Russia?

https://twitter.com/JayinKyiv/status/1781069691005419854

I don't think she can even pronounce transcarpathia.

[-] Bartsbigbugbag@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 months ago

Nope, she’s pretty dumb, I doubt she knows what those words even mean. Wonder why they’re not tapping her phone like they do to normal citizens who have committed no crimes. They might find out where she’s getting these ideas.

[-] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 49 points 6 months ago

Magic The Gathering needs to take her own advice.

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 6 months ago

Too high upkeep, just discard it

[-] Bishma@discuss.tchncs.de 21 points 6 months ago

She's caught between a rock and a hard place if the rumors of 2 R's being ready to walk (if Johnson is ousted) are believed on capital hill. Her twitter follows won't be satisfied unless someone motions to vacate but if they cause the majority to change their donor money is going to dry up even more than it already has.

[-] Ravenson@lemm.ee 14 points 6 months ago

Her real problem is actually a little different. If she introduces a motion to oust, the Democrats will just vote against it this time. They ousted McCarthy because he went and betrayed them plus threw them under the bus, so they had no reason not to hope for a different speaker. Johnson kept his end of the bargain and doesn't go out of his way to fuck them over, so they have no reason not to reward him and keep him in power. Thus, if she introduces a motion to vacate, she and a couple other crazies vote for it and the whole rest of the House votes against it, revealing her to be even more of a joke than she's already become.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 6 points 6 months ago

It does feel different this time. Even if traditional Republicans bend the knee to Trump and his extremist voters, we're all sick of these sickening new levels of dysfunction. Notice I didn't say they would do the right thing for the right reasons...

so they have no reason not to reward him and keep him in power.

They have dozens of reasons to want him out.

The Dems would be foolish to intervene and prevent the GOP continuing to bludgeon themselves. If the right end to avoid the shit show caused by their own party, they should vote in a Dem speaker, even if a minority party representation.

[-] Spitzspot@lemmings.world 17 points 6 months ago

He should step down, immediately leave Congress and take one other GOP with him.

[-] Jackcooper@lemmy.world 16 points 6 months ago

Funny that Mike Johnson is now a (very relative) good guy in this current atmosphere

Inb4 a bunch of anger

[-] disguy_ovahea@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

He just did his job as SotH. Don’t read too much into it. He’s chosen the Bible over the life of citizens before, and he’ll happily do it again.

[-] Syringe@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

He's a fundy traitor. Just because he finally caved on this issue after ENORMOUS political pressure, doesn't mean he deserves any credit. He should be jailed for all the lives lost in Ukraine while he dicked around and held this up.

[-] youngGoku@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

Mike Johnson is a weirdo but at least he's willing to let the gears turn with the dems.

[-] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

He is the first Republican leader since Boehner to have a gonad related name.

Its a calling card of the old money side of the party.

[-] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 13 points 6 months ago

Is she just trying to churn through speakers until she's made the speaker?

Either way, I wish she'd fuck off for good. Her inane, toxic ranting is incredibly annoying.

[-] Empricorn@feddit.nl 7 points 6 months ago

She's introduced past legislation with basically word-for-word Russian talking points. She's straight up corrupt and wants government dysfunction and inaction.

[-] Prox@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

Stop listening to this idiot. She only exists to be a distraction and/or to promote her own self-interests. She's never saying anything constructive or of any consequence.

[-] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

She's a Russian mouthpiece
