It will be interesting to see what happens if we ever get real privacy laws in Australia. I imagine the agencies have enourmous databases full of private information about customers that they share and combine with abandon. They see it as one big marketing tool and don't give a shit about security.

One fix for this issue would be a data breach similar to Optus.

Seems like a typical response when you have more applicants than postings. This basically happens with job interviews too. If we didn't have such a housing shortage, people wouldn't care as much. More infill! Less kowtowing to developers!

This kind of thing is very Black Mirror. I chose to remove social media from my life years ago for my own mental health, and I've been much happier since. This shouldn't create a barrier for anyone who has also decided to make an informed personal decision regarding their online presence for whatever reason.
