I'm working on uploading all 52 of my prerolls to my Peertube channel. It's a slow process as it's one at a time, but it's a good collection I've been working on for a while!

These are awesome! Thank-you. Is there a way to download these from Peertube?

Not directly. There's a workaround in another thread

I've never used a pre roll and really don't understand the point. Maybe I should try it just for fun.

They're dumb, but in a fun way. I created my own preroll video with some music and a silly title card. For me it's a fun way of celebrating the work I put into my setup (again – I use a very dumb video), but also Plex's preroll logic alludes me. It doesn't run all the time.

Mostly, however, I have trailers play ahead of my movie. It's a good way of remembering what else is on my server.

edit: also why, for the love of god, does Plex not pre-buffer the movie during either pre-roll or trailers? It makes no sense!

I've never setup a Plex preroll but some of these are great! It looks like you can even do multiple from a list, I might have to check out some of these and add them to my server

I have been a plex premium member for many years but I always just turn off internet sources. Can you explain what a pre-roll is?

There is some information on the Plex support pages. Just be careful when building the directory name. It's kinda picky

Good advice. Thanks.

Yup, a pre-roll is a short clip of your choice that you can play before movies/shows. It doesn't use internet sources and you just point it to a video on your server.

Agreed, I've never really explored it. I have a domain with a theme that I could carry into a custom branded pre roll. I'm assuming this would play for a few seconds before every file. But I'm not sure that I would want to subject my family to those extra seconds hah

I have them rotate randomly and seasonally but my favorite is probably the Mr. Burns "Let's all go to the lobby" one
