Well, the article states that they are looking to charge him with femicide. According to Wikipedia:

The way he killed her and stuffed her body in a suitcase is just super messed up. Just a yikes all around. I doubt whatever motive he had is at all comprehensible

I DID read that🤦🏿♂️ and of course, super messed up. I just figured there was some sort of incident or catalyst to make him do that after several months
