What it looks like is an image you are gonna look at and realize how stupid you were in retrospect when the inevitable tragedy occurs from allowing your pets to treat a washer/dryer as a fun place to play and hide.

Ya agreed. I never let my cats or kid play with things that can easily kill them.

Yep. Its not a matter of if, but when.

"but I always check first!" Yeah, until you are busy one day and don't. Then you beat and broil your pet to death in the most cruel and inhumane way possible.

No idea how many times I've seen pictures like this, that inevitably..Maybe a week, maybe a month.. maybe a year later, inevitably end up with tragedy and sobbing, and absolute refusal to take any personal responsibility for what they did.

When I still had my cat‡ making sure the dryer was closed after every load and empty before closed was something I got on my roommate's ass about a lot

He had a hard time remembering it at first but after the first couple weeks he started remembering.

‡My cat passed away a few months ago at 18 years old. Not dryer related. He was as spry as a kitten until the last 3 months where everything went downhill fast. He passed away in July. I miss that little snuggle bug.

An old friend, back when I was 17/18 or so, told me about the last time she had a kitten.

The kitten somehow got into the WASHER and her busy and absent-minded mother didn't realize it until the kitten had already drowned. Her mother drove herself (and the kitten) to the police department because she felt so bad.

After that I have always checked for cats. Even now, at almost 40 (I even check the oven)! My husband thinks it's over-kill, but I'm never gonna get that horror story out of my head

Look all I’m saying is, turn it in with 0 heat for like 2 seconds with a few towels and those cats will never go near that thing again for the rest of their lives without being hurt

This was our poor cat. It never even occurred to us it might be something that could happen. He never went near the dryer before, and after a 2 second tumble he never did again. To be clear, he survived.
