Yeah i dont think this was ever true. Even if it was true, why shit on your protection and crying when you need it? The US would gain not having to spend so much on military outposts in the EU/NATO if you guys stopped relying on the US for protection. Increase the taxes on your citizens a bit more to get the military spending you need. This way, the US can finally get some proper healthcare. Everyone wins, right?

Ha ha, you're a funny one. Do you really believe for one second, that any money saved on the military would actually benefit regular people? The US already spend more per head on healthcare than any other country and yet outcomes for normal people are atrocious. Who do you think pockets all that money?

It's not military spending in the way of proper healthcare in the US. The current system makes a lot of money for a bunch of people directly and others indirectly and fixing the system would cut off that profit so they are willing to use their wealth to ensure that wealth keeps getting topped up.

7. No duplicate posts.


If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.


8. Misinformation is prohibited.


Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.


9. No link shorteners.


The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.


10. Don't copy entire article in your post body


For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.
