I sure hope that's not American dollars

It's Australia. We have a very heavy alcohol tax on everything except wine.

[-] StorminNorman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Bottleo worker told me it was the second highest in the world. Except for wine. It's a bit insane these days, a day festival runs me way too much money to get buzzed, not even drunk. I remember going to BDO back in the day with $70 and being blind by the end of the day.

Benefit of being a lightweight in Australia is I don't have to bankrupt myself to get drunk

[-] GraniteM@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

What does that do to the moonshine market?

[-] Marin_Rider@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

homebrew is fairly popular and cheap here

[-] Selmafudd@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Thats Aussie alcohol prices.

My guess is Liquorland

[-] StorminNorman@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

It's bws, that's the labels they use for specials.

[-] Selmafudd@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Ahh rip, I thought that was the Coles colours

[-] StorminNorman@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

It is their colours, which is super unhelpful.

I'm in Queensland, so we're not allowed to have alcohol in supermarkets. This was a stand alone BWS
