Dudes are literally working in meth ๐
Ngl I'm a senior engineer and I take 2.5mg of Adderall once in a while to go through a tough bug or release. I can't imagine taking it every day tho, the side effects really start to show and eventually you'd do worse than without it entirely.
It really messed with your head with long term use - it's not gonna end well for these people.
Meth is short for "crystal methamphetamine." Adderall is made of four different amphetamines. All amphetamines are stimulants. You're splitting hairs here.
They are not the same in terms of the euphoric high that meth has and Adderall does not, so Adderall tends to be less addictive.
However, long-term use of Adderall can still result in physical dependency and withdrawals when coming off of it and is a stimulant much like meth.
And cholesterol is technically a steroid and an alcohol, that doesn't mean, someone is roided and drunk from eating eggs.
It's not splitting hairs to say that two things are different. It's just a wrong statement.
The point wasn't about chemical similarities, but rather, to challenge the perspective about ADHD medicine.
As someone who takes Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) daily, I can say it has improved my life. Some people will assume we're just junkies with a script, and while some certainly are, there are people who need it function.
It is though.
It is not meth. It is amphetamine though
In some cases they literally prescribe methamphetamine. It's sold under the brand desoxyn. My ex girlfriend had it. Since then, I've stopped conflating the two. They are similar but not quite the same.
