Been working remote since 2016, no issues, stuff gets done (GIS, software development, data management, client support). I know may others have been working remotely for much longer.

Because someone mentioned gaining weight... if you do work remotely it can become easy to roll out of bed and into the chair, make sure to take time to exercise (even a brisk walk). I try to get a walk in before breakfast each morning, then follow up with more intense sessions during the day to break up all the sitting or a longer session in the evening.
