League wasnt a clone, league was in the beginning by the people behind the original w3 dota map :')

the main maintainer of DotA at the time IceFrog works with Valve and is behind Dota 2.

so yes, LoL is a knockoff.

No. Icefrog was the assistant dev. Guinsoo was the main dev and left dota to start LoL, leaving icefrog in charge of the project.
