No. The purpose of a system being what it does, the purpose of life is to consume low-entropy states and excrete high-entropy states to stabilise, overall accelerating the generation of entropy in the universe and thereby hastening its demise.

Humanity's role in all that is to colonise the stars to do it all even faster.
