I think its equally likely he was shot down/plane sabotaged, this is fake face saving thing, or the plane crashed due to shoddy mechanics. Whatever the case, the uncertainty works out in Putin's favour.
And if this is a fake-out, I think it'll be found out pretty easily. He is not so adept at disguises.
Idk, I kinda think he looks like Admiral-General Haffaz Aladeen in that second photo.
