All minority groups invariably face this question, especially as demands for equality and equity grow to shake off the oppressive systems which have denied basic rights to them. In the 2020s this is exemplified by the way trans people are framed as a problem to cisgender women’s rights, as if trans rights and women’s rights are two separate spheres which ought not overlap.
