People can use whatever pronouns they want and anyone pitching a fit about it are the ones who deserve scrutiny as far as I'm concerned.

Drag always rubbed me the wrong way, always ready to jump right to calling people tankies without much interesting conversation to be had.

If someone is trolling I'm going to ban them when they violate an actual rule, like telling people to kys, because anything else opens up the field for people like Pug to declare who is and isn't trans based on if they like their pronoun choice.

Responding to PugJesus below me as I can't interact due to their ban:

From my POV, you are pitching a fit over the pronouns by harping on about 'not believing dragons are real' - heres an example of you misgendering with 'his' while doing so. That invites extra scrutiny.

in this thread the person was banned for saying "I don't think it's an unfair line to draw. We draw it at what's real and what's not. Gender as a spectrum is real."

you replied in one comment saying

… transphobia is when you don’t believe in dragons?

How curious.

What I conclude from this:

When you are talking about belief in dragons what you are really doing is using that in as a stand-in to say ' only genders that are 'real' are acceptable to use'. That is gatekeeping.

here you are doing it he same routine to a trans woman in that same thread. You called her a child and insane for saying 'you don't get to question someone's identity'.

I don't believe in any magical creatures, but drag and anyone else should be able to use whatever pronouns they want because fuck gender.

I was curious so I checked the hexbear modlog, you posted a weird comment and people posted a lot of "wtf" replies, the mod message for removing your comment was jesse-wtf

I'm honestly not sure what you're referencing, but most of the responses here were just people making fun of you for blaming Putin for funding Israel?

On the alt-right playbook, at the end of the day its mostly an analysis of fascism as an analysis of rhetoric. I would argue that I've see most of these strategies used by people of every single tendency. I haven't caught up since they returned from hiatus, but ironically the way they're presented would be something I would point to as an example of #1, announcing rhetorical devices authoritatively like you're reading from scripture or something.

If anything since the first run of alt-right playbook the alt right has just won and become the right.

Frankly I've also run into #1 from different directions too, people can be dogmatic from any tendency.

Norway, Finland, and all these countries are actually implementing some socialist policies. Even though they are still capitalist, its the most socialist and egalitarian the world that exists on a large scale (beyond just a small commune)

Social democracies are not socialism, really ironic when people will accuse DPRK of being a monarchy but like... the Nordic social democracies are monarchies with somewhat decent welfare state and democratic representation

I have them right in my display name on .ml too, must be the app?

I usually do, the person misgendering me in this thread moderates several comms on blahaj, so I'm calling it out

I'm an anarchist, obviously I'm not going to charge rent

I'm being misgendered in one of the comments in this very thread, in the thread that this is referencing someone's saying exactly that to me, calling me and anyone vaguely associated a roach that's "chimping out" - context for my comment

And for the record fuck putin, russia is a capitalist shithole and I'm opposed to ALL war between capitalist states and don't see either side as 'good'. Jingoism and bravado just gets people killed needlessly.

I was saying that the quote describes cm0002's behavior, not attributing it to cm0002

also true to form, there was a local user there telling me that I and other russians are roaches, I assume to be exterminated. bullshit like that or calling me a chimp or misgendering is stuff that you all seem fine to tolerate when it's going in the right direction.

Re: how they can go after your access - it's gonna probably get more annoying for insurance to cover meds and shit if they feel like it.

TAYLOR: There are several programs that would address health care for transgender people. These are Medicare, Medicaid, VA. And then there are things like the Affordable Care Act, where you have nondiscrimination protections that may include trans people, depending on how the term sex is being interpreted. So the president can issue an executive order to instruct agencies to do this. And one of the things that we know with executive action on trans rights is it's not sticky. Executive action is going to be very impermanent.
