A US Navy guided-missile destroyer spent four days last month without working toilets, galley services and air conditioning in the blistering heat of the South China Sea after the warship lost power.

The incident was due to an engineering failure aboard the warship, the US 7th Fleet said in a statement to CNN, another setback as concerns mount over the heavy strain on the US Navy due to the Iran war and global commitments.

The USS Benfold, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer, was on routine operations in the Indo-Pacific on July 24 when an “engineering casualty involving its generators” occurred, Navy Cmdr. Matthew Comer, spokesperson for the 7th Fleet, said.

Machines are not like stocks. You can’t just short them and expect to “profit” somehow.

Remember how everyone was laughing at Russia’s military when their much-vaunted equipment turned out to be poorly maintained garbage? Our Glorious Leader is doing the same thing to our navy.

Destroy public schools, destroy the military, destroy scientific innovation, stamp out vaccines, eviscerate every social support system, and deny anyone but the most privileged any meaningful medical care.

Wow, thank God no one at the top of our government has ever been associated with Russia or any of the other oligarchs around the world. Because otherwise it might start to seem like they really are enemy agents out to destroy the country. Hah hah wouldn't that be crazy?

I have a family member who works logistics for the DoD. He's done this job for years around the globe, including Afghanistan without complaint. I keep getting Signal messages complaining about how bad things are, what a cluster fuck it is and how everyone, including the brass, are at their wits end.
