Use of single-sex toilets, changing rooms and hospital wards in England, Scotland and Wales is now restricted according to a person’s birth sex, rather than the gender with which they identify.

My mother: I would never use a unisex bathroom.

Me: the bathroom in your house is unisex

Mother: that’s different that’s family

Me: so you wouldn’t let the plumber or electrician use the bathroom?

I understand where this point comes from, but it always comes across as vapid to me. Obviously when people express concern about gender-neutral bathrooms, they're talking about multi-user gender-neutral bathrooms.

Seriously though, it’s not hard to have an open space with multiple stalls.
