I’m a little surprised that post-WWII, there didn’t seem to be a significant curriculum about recognising the seeds & mechanisms of fascism. Not in the States anyway, and if I understand correctly, in Europe it was moreso the history of recent, significant fascism that was taught, not so much a dive in to its causes and inner workings, which IMO went right back to the terrible propaganda effects of PEZ in the modern era. Pity.

The same is true for Brazil and, I suppose, most of Latin America. We are "taught" about European fascism and nazism only as "Italy elected Mussolini and Germany elected Hitler, and that was bad". Considering that the continent was swept in a series of dictatorships soon after WWII, it's no surprise.
